If you value your automobile DO NOT EVER TAKE IT TO Folsom Tire Pro's. They are the most unprofessional organization that will not stand behind damage that was caused and admitted to by the Service Counter personnel during the installation of my front tires. Robert, the Service Counter person met me outside the shop when I dropped the truck off and we looked over the truck. It is an extremely customized GMC Sierra and Robert was admiring and commenting about the truck being lowered and the custom exhaust system that was installed etc. I told him that I wanted the new tires installed on the front at that time. I left my truck with them and he said that it would be ready early afternoon. Around 10:30 I received a call from Robert asking me how to let the air pressure off my airbags on the back of my truck? I told him that there was an onboard compressor and the controls were below the steering wheel on the dash and asked why? Robert said that they had put my truck on the lift to change the tires and needed to let the pressure out. When I didn't hear anything back them by 3:30 I called and they told me that it wouldn't be ready until just before 5:00. When I showed up at the shop at 5:00 they were still working on it and being evasive about why it was taking so long. Finally, Robert told me that when they put the truck up on the rack, they did not support the rear wheels and had exploded the top seal on my airbag on the right side rear. He said that they had managed to repair it and get a metal ring back on the top and that it was holding pressure. He told me as I was paying for it that if there was any problems to give him a call. Well, after the truck sat overnight, all of the air had leaked out of the bags. I called Robert back and he apologized and said that he was going to call around to see about getting it taken care of for me. After a week, I had not heard anything back from Folsom Tire Pros so I called and asked for Robert and was told that he was busy and would call me back. This went on for two days and finally on the third day, Justin Breaux the store manager called me back and was very rude saying that I had not disclosed to them that there was airbags on the truck therefore they were not responsible for any damages. I told him that Robert and I had walked the truck before it went into his shop and talked about the customization and also that I specifically wanted the new tires on the front so there was no anticipation of anything being done except to the front of the truck. Justin told me that the airbags were installed wrong and that there should have been a safety chain installed to keep the rear wheels from over-extending the airbags which also meant that they were not responsible. I told Justin that I have had airbags on my truck for 12 years and had put many sets of tires all the way around on it in the past and have never had to and quot;discloseand quot; to any tire shop that I had airbags on it and have never had a problem. I got in touch with the airbag manufacturer/distributor at Hellwig Enterprises (Cliff Smith) and was told that you would never install a chain of any kind as Folsom Tire Pros was claiming as it would inhibit and possibly damage the springs in the suspension. They also said that if anything were to be installed but rarely are, it would be what is called a and quot;limiting strapand quot; and in his opinion, Folsom Tire Pros should honor their mistake. I also visited three of Folsom Tire Pro's competitors, approaching them the same way I did Folsom Tire Pro's and all three indicated that since the truck was obviously customized and lowered, a complete inspection would take place looking for airbags or any other custom components were installed prior to any lifting. I gave Justin every opportunity and even told him that I may be forced to leave a negative comment on Angies List and he told me that he didn't care. I told him that I will never step foot in his shop again and I will be sure to alert anyone that I can as well ..... please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about my experience as I would be more than happy to share and keep anything like this from happening to any other unsuspecting customers out there.

Response from Folsom Tire Pros
"When I received the call from (member name removed), he told me that we damaged his specialty suspension and that he would ruin our online reputation unless I paid to have it fixed. I asked him some questions about who installed the suspension and the type of suspension it was. He told me that I could call (name removed) at (company name removed) and verify that this was a professionally manufactured and installed lowering kit. So I called (company name removed) at (phone number removed) and spoke with (second name removed) in technical support. He told me that (name removed) had not worked for the company in 4+ years and that (company name removed) does not now, nor ever has manufactured a lowering kit. He continued to state that a long time ago they gave away free air bags that matched the description of (member name removed)’s suspension, but there was never a “kit” or warranty by (company name removed). Since we are no stranger to modified suspensions, from lifting Hummers to lowering Maseratis, I asked my mechanic if he had noticed anything out of the ordinary on (member name removed) vehicle. He told me that it came in with a cut and welded frame and one of the ball joint nuts was about to fall off as well as a list of other concerns. My mechanic tightened the loose ball joint nut to manufacturer specification at no charge to (member name removed). The mechanic also noted that there were no limiting straps on the rear axle, which is customary for a “custom” lowering kit of this type. After my research, I informed (member name removed) that had we been given special instructions not to lift his vehicle by the frame, I would be more than happy to repair his vehicle. The reality of the situation is that Robert was never given such instruction. I also informed him that had the kit actually been manufactured for that vehicle, the air bag would have never come apart when lifting the vehicle. In conclusion, I informed (member name removed) that we will not be blackmailed into giving away money in fear of poor online reviews. We care for our customers and their vehicles with integrity and will continue to do so. Please feel free to give me a call if you have any questions or swing by the shop and experience what we do for yourself, 916-984-6504."

I think this organization is great. They are always courteous and right on with their quotes. They are opened on Saturdays which is nice because both my wife and I work, so we never have problems to take in the car whenever I need to get them serviced. I use them for all three of our cars.
