They are a little more expensive then others, but when you've had somebody coming in your house and never had a problem. It was like $6 less per day but I decided not to switch. We had to have them come twice a day because of our cats dietary things. They give them medication or whatever they need.

I have used them for years and they were always able to provide a sitter. My cat was always happy and healthy when I came home. The people that own the business are just a lovely lovely family.

The two cats we needed pet-sitting for do not get along with each other very well, and yet the pet-sitter (Josie) had no problem whatsoever accommodating our needs and taking the appropriate care when feeding, etc. ? she even brought in our mail for us, not to mention writing up daily reports on how the two cats were doing, how they ate, and so forth.

UPDATE: As I suspected, this seems to be the case of one bad walker. Capital Petsitters was very apologetic and offered me a few complimentary walks. I would usually have written them off, but they were so persistent and professional in expressing their disappointment with my experience (and all of their reviews here are great) that I decided to give them another chance.

I'm glad I did. Niecy was a very responsive walker and contacted me by both phone and email within 24 hours of my request. She put me at ease at our initial consultation. She updated me during our night away with emails, texts, and photos. (Some people may think this is excessive, but I requested it). When I returned, my pup was happy and tired.

I wish I hadn't had such a negative experience at first, but Patricia and crew did everything humanly possible to make it right, and I will use them in the future.

They were excellent.  I've used them once before during the Christmas time frame as well.  I believe it was $21 a day and both the times were during the holiday time frame.  I would definitely recommend them to anybody and that is why I used them the second time actually.  I would use them again when I need them.

He came two weeks before to meet the dogs. When we returned the dogs were happy and the house was in the same condition as when we left. NObody likes a stranger staying in their home but if you have no choice then I reccommend Capital Petsitters.

I have an elderly cat that needs to be fed twice a day and given medications once a day.  Capital Petsitters showed up as expected over a long holiday weekend and took great care of my cat.  I knew she was in good hands and when I got home I was happy to find notes on the kitchen counter describing what happened at each visit.  This definitely put my mind at ease.  The cat sitter also responded to my text messages about how things were going.  Overall I was very pleased with the care and attention they gave my cat.  I think they could be a little better emptying the trash can, but I never raised that with them so I guess it was just what I had hoped for, but hadn't really expected.

Great service and am very happy with the care that my pets got.  Will surely use again.

I had a short time frame to locate a Pet sitter I felt I could trust when my usual sitter was unavailable.  Capital Petsitters were very responsive and friendly and instantly put me at ease.  I came home to well cared for pets.  I plan to use them again which is the best recommendation I can offer.

Very well.  They responded quickly, were professional, and took good care of my dog with daily text updates and pictures.  I will continue to use CPS as they take good care of my dog and he can stay in his own house.

Updated review: the company manager contacted us after reading our Angie's List review. She said the company policy did NOT include keeping house keys for future use. She terminated the offending sitter's employment, and offered us compensation for changing our locks (in the form of free dog sitting). I am satisfied that they addressed the security concern, and the care our dog received was exceptional. I am changing this review from an "F" to a "B".

Original review: We hired a pet sitter to watch our golden retriever for a 4-day weekend. The punctuality and service from the pet-sitter was excellent for our dog, but terrible for us. The sitter arrived the day prior, met our dog, took notes, and was very courteous. When we came back home, there were individual notes for each visit (3 per day) with updates on how our dog was doing. That was all wonderful... then we tried to get our house keys and alarm key-fob back. It took a week to get the alarm fob back, and they refused to give us back our keys! The company said they MUST keep a copy of our key just in case they watch our dog in the future, and that future pet sitter loses the key. "it's for the dog's safety" is what we were told. It's now 3 months later, and after repeated calls and emails to the sitter and the company office, we still don't have our house key back. We have changed our locks because I have no idea who has access to those keys.

The cat sitter was friendly, on time, and available to answer questions.  I felt completely comfortable letting her stay at my place for a week.

Excellent pet sitting service. Sherry was great and she texted me about my kitty's status at every visit and even took pictures a couple times. My cats seem very normal and happy upon my return. Would definitely recommend.

Bard is fantastic. Just from talking with her I could tell that she loves her job and is compassionate about animals. We are very lucky to have found someone who takes such joy & pride in doing their job.

We used Angieslist so locate pet sitters while we were on vacation. I had interviewed two and Capital Pet Sitters was the best price with the nicest staff. They were very courteous on the phone and very responsive when I left messages. They cared for our 1 dog (85lb lab/shepherd mix) and 1 cat for 2 weekends. The intro consultation was very thorough; we showed them where food, water, and bathroom supplies were, discussed emergency contacts (we were out of the country) and vet phone numbers.
They take in the mail and water plants and there were notes and updates each day about both animals.
The service was very reasonably priced for the area, and I would trust them again to care for my pets while I was away.I am very pleased with the service and would recommend to anyone vacationing.

Janaya was excellent. She left us a note each day and even took out the trash & swept. It was great to come home to a happy cat & his clean area.

The service I paid for was coming to my home 2 times per day to feed my cat, look in on her and give her oral medication.  Each day, twice per day.  My cat is 5 pounds, old and frail so this service was critical but necessary although pricey.

While we were away, there was a major storm and subsequent loss of power over a widespread area. Temperatures were in the 100s. I spoke with the pet sitter who assured me that the cats were fine and happy and that the air conditioning was functioning properly. The pet sitter, also left a report for each of the 5 days we were away.

Capital Petsitters LLC prices are very reasonable. They did a very good job. The lady that took care of them, was an animal lover. She was very professional. I will use them again.
