We went with Jose after several bids from other contractors. From beginning to end, Jose communicated every step in our partial bathroom remodel, offered options and/or solutions to any issues that rose and in the end, did an excellent job and for a fantastic price. He worked on our project in between his other projects and was able to complete it quickly without jeopardizing the quality of his work. I highly recommend and look forward to using him for future renos!

Both Joseâ  s were fantastic! Very dependable , reasonable, professional and extremely hardworking. We live in an Victorian home which can be complex and difficult but they prevailed! I am super happy with the results and they get an A++++ from us!! Thank you Jose!

Professional, courteous and timely

Very professional, right after Jose came for the bid, I got it in writing. He gave me a lot of choices. He did it exactly like I wanted. I have many neighbors who were impressed with his work. He is a perfectionist. Also he was able to start sooner and he spent many hours overtime to finish. So happy I found him.

Very good service I thought we could rebuild our Redwood deck, it was too bad. They poured a stamped colored concrete patio we love it

Jose Martinez is without a doubt the best contractor that I ever hired. I am a landlord with several houses that I rent out. For all future services, I will only call Jose. He started and finished all the projects on time and on budget. He was very reliable and trustworthy. I was able to leave him for several days and came home to a finished project.

After no-shows by other contractors, Jose Martinez was the only one that showed up and followed through. Jose made an excellent repair to my bathroom floor which the linoleum had buckled due to the builder omitting to caulk around the tub. Jose removed the wood flooring, removed and disinfected the mold and installed new wood and linoleum. Also installed a new toilet. I have also contracted Jose to landscape my backyard in Jan. 2018. Jose does excellent work and is flexible and dependable.

I write very few reviews but Jose Martinez is without a doubt one of the best contractor we have used. He installed a new stove hood vent and it is beautiful. This was not a hood replacement, it was a new install and he finished within three hours. His attention to detail and customer service went beyond my expectation. We had a major celebration for Saturday and he rearranged his schedule and worked into Friday evening so that we could use it the next day. We have several more projects and renovations scheduled in the next year and he will be our first call.

I found Jose Martinez of MTZ Construction thru Home Advisor. They listed few handyman services in my area. I e-mailed all of them. Only Jose responded to my e-mail. The others did not. He told me that he is busy with other jobs but is willing to come to our house in Rio Vista that weekend to talk about the projects and gave us a very reasonable quote. He said he can do the job if we can wait for him to finish his on-going jobs at hand . Since our projects are not emergency in nature, we agreed to just wait for him. After a week or so, he came back and start our project. To our satisfaction, he completed our multiple projects plus any additional tasks we asked him to do with very few breaks in between and sometimes no break at all. He is very professional, friendly, polite and accommodating. We will definitely call on him again for any handyman jobs we may have in the future. I also recommended him to some of our friends who are in need of handyman for small or even big projects. I'm pretty confident he will do a great job with any projects, big or small.

Approachable and flexible

Jose was one time, stayed all day and his work was better than the original contractor who built the house. He customized an ugly feature to make it look better. The entire job looked fantastic. He pointed out dry rot after he completed demolition and recommended we replace more of the wood, we did, and we are confident that our front window is now secure. The job was done without a break, with professional courtesy and craftsmanship. Jose is a pro. I recommend Jose for any similar carpentry job. He charged for materials and labor. He was here for 10 hours and no break. We invited him to dinner but he said no thank you he had to get home to his children. Good man.

I highly recommend Jose Martinez for any tile work you need done. The work he did on my fireplace is beautiful and I suspect he would be good at any remodeling project. I remodeled my fireplace by converting it from a wood burning to a gas model. I hired Jose to replace the existing granite with custom ordered tiles. They were small tiles like the ones you might see on a back splash in the kitchen. His attention to detail was excellent. All the little tiles line up perfectly. The finished product is beautiful. I wish I could post a picture so you could see his work. It ended up being a pretty big project because he had to temporarily remove a built in bookcase and redo the mantel. He was very professional and pleasant. He always showed up on time and was trustworthy. I will definitely call him for my next project.

Contractor was very prompt. Showed up at the agreed time. It was pointed out to m e That I had an additional problem. I agreed the work needed to be done. We came up with and agreeable price. The work was completed in a very professional way. I would recommend this contractor based on performance and professional work.
