YARD SQUAD LLC

We hired Cathy not only to refresh our current landscape, but predominantly to provide maintenance service. Unfortunately, we paid her in full, prior to completion of the original agreement but in good faith and several promises from her that 'she isn't happy unless we are happy.' Well, that turned out to be a load of c***.There several incomplete items from the original contract: 1) lighting is absent from large areas of our yard (that actually used to have lighting, but now have the original light without an electrical supply); 2) some of the original lighting that was corroded/broken has never been replaced; and, 3) what lighting was replaced was done so with lights that don't match the rest of the lights, so now we have 5 (yes FIVE) different styles of lighting in our pretty small yard space. The irrigation system (also part of the original contract in terms of updating) has not been modified to respect the needs of the new plants--some areas receive too much water, others too little (with plants suffering accordingly) and to add insult to injury here, we used to have the business card of the company that installed the irrigation system (and who actually responded promptly to our calls) attached to the control unit and that is now mysteriously gone. Many pots in areas of high visibility remain empty, waiting for "the perfect plant" (her words)--of course there is the occasional weed that springs up in these pots which we have to pull. Finally, she has not returned ANY of our calls or emails-the last physical inspection occured in early June, and last communication from her was the end of June with a PROMISE to provide a maintenance contract and to complete the remaining items in the original agreement. So, bottom line, we paid $8K for a yard that is haphazardly lit, poorly irrigated with plants either dead, dying, or growing like weeds. My husband and I are employed full time and with 2 kids both under 4 yrs and have no free time for green thumbs on the weekends, so now have to find another gardener to salvage what can be salvaged and replace what is lost.

Cathy Riordan is fabulous. She spent some time finding out what appealed to me and what I was looking for and then she exceeded my expectations. She has extensive knowledge about plants and flowers and a real knack for placement and design. She is responsive, respectful and quick. They completed the installation of my grass, stone wall, and plantings in 2 1/2 days. Her crew is great and was also very respectful of my home. What made this all possible is that Cathy was able to work with my budget. She prioritized the work with me and completed it in a way that made the yard look complete.
