Very happy with results. Will definitely use again!
I had a leak above a windows and had a difficult time finding a contractor to do the work. I looked for months until I found HomePro on Angie?s List. Matt from HomePro came to my house, inspected the problem and told me about the possible causes. He told me how they would start out by removing the stucco around the window but that the problem could be higher up on the wall. He also agreed to try to match my stucco since I had previous stucco work done and knew the color to use. Later that day he sent me an estimate. I will be honest, I thought it was a bit on the high side. I decided to go with HomePro for multiple reasons. They specialize in this type of repair and HomePro could do all of the work so I would only had to deal with one contractor. I had a good talk with Matt while he was inspecting the problem on my house and I like what I heard. His was the kind of business I like to work with. I also read the reviews on HomePro on Angie?s list and all but a couple said very good thng about them. I rarely go with the lowest bid, because often you get what you pay for and I came away with that belief with HomePro.
The HomePro crew showed up at my house the first day on time. They went right to work removing the stucco around the window. They saw that there was indeed a leak but that it was coming somewhere above the window. I was not happy with the news knowing that it would cost even more, but I had to have it fixed. I was also not surprised since Matt had explained that this may be the case. They said that they would remove about a foot of stucco at a time until they found the leak. They worked for a while and found a leak higher up on the wall, but you could tell there was another leak even higher up the wall. They eventually found the final leak pretty far up the wall. I was impressed with how the crew worked with me. They kept me informed and showed me what they were seeing. The second leak was a larger leak and it had resulted in some dry rot but luckily it was not extensive. The next day they came out and repaired the dry rot and got everything ready to put the stucco back on. They also tested it by spraying water to make sure there were no more leaks. The next day they put on the main coat of stucco. The day after that they were going to do the color coat. I got a call from Matt on the day that they were doing the color coat and the color was not matching. I came to the house and sure enough it was not even close. The crew tried a few things to try to make a match but it didn?t work. Matt handled this situation like a professional. I wanted to work with the stucco manufacturer to get a better match. This caused a multiple day delay and he ate the cost of his crew of two being at my house almost all that day trying to get the stucco to match. I don?t think many contractors would have done that. By-the-way, I don?t think he will do color matching again because it is very difficult. The second attempt at matching the color was successful and the job came out looking great.
I was very impressed with everyone at HomePro. Matt and his crew were all very professional and easy to work with. They were always on-time and never flaked on me. The fact that Matt ate the cost of his crew being there almost the whole day trying to get a color match proved to me how much he cares about his customers and the reputation of his company. This is the type of businesses that I like to do business with. I will use HomePro again and recommend them to everyone I know.
wood trim of my home. Matt and his crew did an excellent job and I highly
recommend Home Pro. The quality of their work, timeliness, regular
communication, and attention to details were outstanding. Great work!
We had three companies come out and give us a quote to install new windows and sliding doors in our house. HomePRO was the clear choice. Matt, the owner of the company, came to our home and was able to describe in detail how the project would transpire, from beginning to end. He was also straightforward with pricing. (Both competitors had sales people come to the house. Even they admitted they couldn't tell us exactly how the old windows would be removed and the new ones put in. One company had such a gimmicky sales tactic that we wouldn't have gone with them even if we liked the product.) (A fun side note, our dog and kids liked Matt...none of them reacted well to the gimmicky sales guy!)
We had originally wanted to replace all our windows and sliding doors but the estimate was above our price range. Since we were confident HomePRO would install things correctly, we opted to complete the project in two stages instead of finding a cheaper company. We chose to replace six of the eight windows and one of the two sliding doors. We'll probably complete the project in a year or so.
As with many projects, there were a few hiccups. After installation, we noticed three manufacturer errors. HomePRO immediately arranged for the manufacturer to come out. The manufacturer came out a couple weeks later and all three issues were resolved that day. We were impressed with the manufacturer's customer service. They also have a very good warranty policy.
I would put a note of caution to those homeowners with older homes: have the installer assess whether or not your windows and/or door frames are cut evenly before the project begins. Our home was built in 1979 and it wasn't until after installation that we realized that most of the windows and door frames weren't originally cut evenly. (Or maybe with the house settling things shifted?) In any event, this affected how the matching vinyl trim looks around the interior of our windows. The trim makes the framing look crooked. (This wasn't evident with our old windows because they were built into the house frame meaning the windows were crooked too. There was also no interior trim.) We brought this up to Matt who reassured us that the windows are installed correctly and level to manufacturer's standards. It's the original window/door framing that makes it look off. We have confidence that the windows/door are installed correctly and realize this outcome would have happened with any installer but we were still disappointed in how the trim looks, mostly because we didn't expect such a variation. Other homeowners may be fine with how a trim in this case looks. (Some trims are more pronounced than others.) If not, homeowners may want to consider new construction over retro-fit. A pricier option but could avoid the issue. Another option is making a custom interior trim that follows the window frame and the window. We'll be looking into this when we redo the kitchen. Matt was considerate with my feedback on this matter and said he'll give this more consideration with future projects.
All in all, we would recommend HomePRO to others and plan on calling Matt in the future when it's time to complete our window project. Matt is very professional, knowledgeable, reliable and excellent with follow-through.
