I spoke to Bob Bussey a year ago about qualifying for a home loan. We'd sold a home short sale in 2007, before anybody was short selling houses.
Bob counseled us on getting "mortgage ready". We did everything he told us to do. We paid down debt and actually moved into a more expensive rental to avoid "payment shock" for our next house.
We ended up buying a fixer home in a beautiful neighborhood; we bought the "dog on the block".
Many times, during a seller-protracted escrow, we had second thoughts. Bob, acting as a friend, reminded us that we needed a tax write-off, that interest rates were historically low, and that we were getting a "smoking deal" on a house that appraised almost $90,000 less than the closest comp.
We stuck it out and we're glad we did. We owe a huge gratitude to Bob Bussey who acted, not just as our mortgage adviser but, as a financial consultant.
