When I contacted another company about the problems, they pointed out several. The gas piping is undersized, and the condensate is not connected to the proper side of the venting. In addition, the exhaust and intake air vents on the roof are not properly capped, the fittings on the air pipes are 90 degree angles, not DMV fittings with a sweep, and he used copper piping for the condensate which is subject to acid eating corrosion and is therefore not approved for this type of installation. This second company told me that I could have had the tankless unit installed outside the house, as I had originally requested. Frenchy had told me that was not possible according to code.
I would definitely not recommend the services of Frenchy's Plumbing as he is defensive and rude, his work is sloppy and he is incompetent with tankless hot water heaters. To make matters worse, he is ignorant about his mistakes when they are pointed out to him and he refuses to accept that his work is less than adequate. The client then must hire someone else to do the needed repairs to Frenchy's work.
I finally have hired another company to take out his improperly installed tankless hot water heater and install one correctly on the outside of the house. I did get a quote for repairs to the original installation, but it was going to be so costly, that it made more sense to install a new one on the outside of the home as I had originally wanted. Hiring Frenchy's Plumbing was a $5,000 mistake.
took a bad situation and made it a positive out come ..
they arrived on time and completed the job quickly. all employees were good to my grandkid and dogs.
The day after I called he came to look at it at 9am, he said bad old pipes, galvanized which I already knew. There was no water pressure, and rust and dirt and in the lines. He then said he would come back at 2:00 and he would get the faucet.
Later, he called and said couldn't do it until the next morning. So I asked him for a receipt of the faucet, he said he put on his account, so no receipt.
When he finally came next day, he brought helper who actually did the install. The faucet he brought was very simple and he told me it was $86.00, but without a receipt thinking it was much cheaper. The helper replaced the valves but did not get correct valve with 2 hose receptacles, as one was supposed to be connected to dish washer. He told me he would have to pull dishwasher out to replace and would cost more. The valve previously had the 2 connections, so he basically lied about it. I have been planning to get new dishwasher in next few months, but now washing dishes by hand.
Both men also wore no shoe covers which I think is very unprofessional. I had another plumber tell me they put wrong valve in and dishwasher does not have to be pulled to replace valve. I believe it was way overpriced to change out a faucet.
One last thing but definitely the clincher, the big guy Frenchy sneezed three times in my kitchen and did not cover his face.
