please see UPDATE, at the bottom of this review.
All in all, EVERY component of my contact with Ed has been good at good prices. (BTW-He gives a 20% senior discount). I am in hopes that I will be able to follow up after todays appointment with happy outcomes.
THE NEXT DAY....
Ed showed up with the new commode, and although he did have a bit of a struggle removing the old unit, he got it done, and put in the new unit within about 1/2 hour. It is a deluxe Kohler Cimarron, and although we have only had the opportunity to 'test drive' it a couple of times, I am extremely happy with the unit. As far as Ed goes, he came is $5 less than the quote, which was already a great deal, and he went about getting the job done in good style. I can find no negatives whatsoever with the product or the service.
If I need a plumber, there is only one on my phone memory-its "Ed the Plumber!"

UPDATE: Since Ed installed the commode, a good while later, it had started leaking. I now have a general contractor who does jobs for me as time allows. He was surprised to find that the flange was about 5/8" ABOVE the floor level, so that when the commode was set, it was porcelain to metal, with about 1/32"-1/16" of wax left. He corrected this by putting in a new, shorter flange pipe, and now all is well. Based upon this later finding, I would be hesitant to recommend Ed. It could have been oversight, but after considering all of the other reviews, I think I would stick with my new contractor, instead of calling Ed.

He was late. Did not fix it. Cashed my check. He is listed in the Yellow Pages as licensed and insured, which he is neither. I have filed a complaint with the Plumber's Union. BEWARE!!!
