Contractor demanded unfair pricing of $2600 for 3 hours of labor to install new platform. This represented over 50% of the cost of the job, so my advice is to ensure that your HVAC contractor is able to sub this out at a more reasonable cost. After consulting with 2 other professionals after job completion, they agreed that 3 hours of work plus materials should not have exceeded $1200-1500. A neighbor who had similar work told me that she was charged an additional $900 to install a platform last year by an HVAC contractor in Escondido.

Frank and Ken came in and were very professional, clean and respectful. They inspected the job, diagnosed it, explained it to me and then went to work. They took their time making sure I understood how the A/C and Heating system worked. Once they finished, they double checked the work and made sure I was content with it. When a problem arouse from their repair (beyond their control) they came back and fixed it. They listened to my concerns regarding the system, checked over everything, made suggestions and fixed it.I would used them again in a heartbeat. I now have a warm home.

The owner of the company and one associate arrived at the appointed time and they immediately went to work. They were very thorough and kept me apprised of what they were doing andof any issues that came up.
Total time for the project was about 6 hours.

Installation and all work went very well. The product is (in April 2007) very new. However, the work went smoothly, all issues relating to the newness of the product were handled quickly and professionally. The company owner, Frank, was involved in the product development so he is very familiar with all aspects of the system. The people were prompt, well informed, and completed the work in less than one day. The system is now working well.
