Great service.  We have a 30 year old pool which seemed to be always cold.  Installed the solar so we could enjoy the pool more.  We had to get a variable speed pump which was another added expense however hopefully are electric bill will go down a bit.  Now the pool is averaging between 83 to 88 degrees.   Dennis, the owner is a great guy to work with.

I would advise anyone who is thinking of using this company to reconsider because in my opinion they stole my money.

They got the pannels up in less than a day. They explained to me how everything worked. Whenever I would ask a question I got a good answer. Everything is working fine. I am very pleased with the service.

After initially installing system and changing the setting on my pool pump, the connections expanded and were not working correctly. Had to hire an outside contractor to fix the problem because they would not accept responsibility. After a few months the system began leaking from house roof. They repaired leaks. System leaked again in other places on roof and leaks repaired by Performance. After third or fourth leak problem requested Performance to remove the system and reimburse me for the reusable parts. They offered me $250 for a system tht contains nine 10 feet by 4 feet solar collectors (one of which was replaced by them because of leaking). I rejected their offer and filed a complaint with the Contractors State License Board in January, 2010. To date the problem has not been resolved.

They installed the pool pump and pipes in a bizarre manner. We had to get them to install it again. They even tried something illegal with us. They took our credit card number and wanted to charge us right away. It took us months of fighting and when they charged the credit card, they charged us three times. We had to inform them that it was illegal and we notified everybody. After thirty six hours they backed down. They refused to wait for the roofing guys and they messed up the installation. They ran pipes up into the eaves rather than go through the eaves and as a result our pool pump efficiency went down about 20-30 percent.

A couple of days later the company rep arrived and told me that he was there to sell me a replacement system. He said the system was too old to repair but he could replace all the panels for about $5,000. I asked him again to just sell me a repair kit, or send someone to repair the panel. He said he would try to get a repair tech to come out, but I never heard from them again. I contacted the panel manufacturer (Fafco) again and they said they had systems out there for over 20 years, and they were still going strong. They said they had plenty of repair kits but couldn't sell me one directly. They then referred me to an alternate representative in Laguna, CA who sold me a repair kit for $50 and I received in in two days. It appeared that Performance Solar had no intention of repairing my solar system, any only wanted to sell me an expensive replacement. I repaired the panel myself (a pretty low tech procedure)and the system is now running fine.
