One of the easiest home improvement projects we’ve ever done. Palomar was on top of things from the start and kept us informed at every point in the application process. Once we were approved by the city, Palomar had us scheduled. The installation took about a day and was very professional. When they left, the area was clean. Already the panels are producing and we can tell they will meet our energy needs. Great company. Wish I could give them more stars.

Very professional. Any glitches were handled promptPalomar Solar did a wonderful job installing our Solar system. The process was very smooth. This past winter when we had so much rain we developed a roof leak under the solar panels which included ceiling damage in our kitchen. Then there were two more leaks. We had installed a new roof in 2010. As soon as it was dry enough Palomar sent someone to check it out. He was very thorough even crawling in our toddler-size crawl space, twice! He resealed everything. He did mentioned that the paper under the shingles seemed very dry for such a new roof, but maybe it was because of the southern exposure. They also sent a drywall installer who did a beautiful job repairing our ceiling. During the next big rain we had another leak. The owners’ of the company (Adam Rizzo is the one I worked with) decided the only way to cure the problem was to replace that section of roofing. Which they did free of charge. When the roofers got the existing roof stripped off they discovered that section of the roof was not constructed with plywood but still had the 57 year old planks. Adam called and said that with the seamed planking even with the new paper & shingles there was no way to guarantee it wouldn’t leak again. That it should really be overlaid with plywood. Since they were obviously not responsible for the weak under structure they requested that we pay for plywood to be installed. My husband & I discussed it and decided that Palomar had already gone above & beyond and they were only charging us a fraction of what we would have to pay someone else to do it, so we agreed. The roof repair was completed, the solar panels reinstalled and the system works beautifully (no leaks). Palomar Solar & the owners’ were fantastic. Responsive, responsible and excellent with customer service. I have recommended them to several of my friends who are considering installing solar panels. We definitely made the BEST choice for our solar panel contractor. ly and well. Their follow up was excellent.

I interviewed several , local only  companies, based on thorough research and chose Palomar Solar.  They were  professional, on time , on budget, even though they needed to do more work on my roof than anticipated. The company does not require any payment except $1,000.00 deposit unit the panels are installed , functioning and inspected. They were on one  the few companies  that offered individual inverters on every  high quality panel, and  24/7 central computer monitoring. At some point they sent me an email alerting me that my system wasn't generating enough electricity, so I had to adjust the breaker .We installed 50 panels so it was a huge investment . Fortunately, we chose the right people. I get thrilled watching my meter spinning backwards!

It is a pleasure to be able to offer and unqualified endorsement of Palomar Solar--their equipment, their installation, and their support. I could not be happier with my decision to go with Palomar. I found the team to be outstanding to work with--thorough in their knowledge of their product, solid in their support through the process, and meticulous in their care in making everything just right--all the tangible and intangible parts of a complex process. Everyone was generous with their time in keeping me informed and answering all my questions about the operation of the system.
I made a thorough study of the pros and cons of the micro inverter in comparison to central inverter systems and concluded that the micro inverter technology offered by Palomar offers the most stability and longevity to the individual property owner. I would be very surprised if it doesn't turn out to be the dominant technology not too far down the road. In fact, it was the use of the micro inverter technology that tipped my decision process toward Palomar over another well-regarded company.

They are an outstanding company. They did a fantastic job for us installing the solar panals. They still stay in contact with us making sure everything is going okay. They send a gift at the end of each year. They used their own contractors and that was important to us on such a big investment. Stellar customer service all around. They were here right when they said they would be.

I was a little frustrated by the experience. My project was not a cookie cutter. It required some electrical work in addition to the solar, and the electrical work (replacing the household service panel) required some masonry because the panel is surrounded by brick. I had three problems with the bid provided: 1) the solar configuration was underconfigured. The proposed Enphase microinverters and the solar panels proposed weren't sufficient. 2) The electrical work wasn't ever actually estimated and made part of the bid. 3) The masonry part was ignored. Palomar Solar didn't appear ready to meet my complete project needs even if their bid had been competitive. Which it wasn't.
In fairness to the company, this is a busy time for solar providers and my job might not have met their criteria or might have required too much overhead to be profitable, but they didn't explain it that way. They just kind of faded away after their last site visit.

We evaluated Palomar's proposal carefully but did not select them because our first choice had a better price. I recommend that you consider Palomar because of the excellent array of top-quality equipment they offer, their excellent reputation for quality work,

I initially paid $1000.00 to pay for the paperwork to SDG&E as well as the City of Chula Vista. That included all the permitsnecessary. In addition the system was put on a waiting list with the State of CA in case there would be any money available from the state for rebates.
After about 6 weeks the paperwork and permits were secured by Palomar Solar and the panels were scheduled to be installed. The panels did not have to be ordered as they are in stock at the main office. On Monday the 7th of Oct. a crew of two arrived at my home to install the panels. The entire process took two days. I was surprised at the speed as I have noted that other companies took up to three weeks for an installation.
On the third day the City of Chula Vista's inspection took place and all passed with flying colors. Two days after that SDG&E informed me that the system could be turned on. As easy as pie.
The system included came with a system where each panel can be monitored for efficiency. That is done on my computer as well as the of Palomar. If a panel is going bad it will be replaced. Other systems I researched only monitored the entire system. If the production is a problem how do you know which panel is bad?
Adam Rizzo was the sales person. He was available on a 7/24 basis as the process proceeded. I have never dealt with such a sales
person.
The system is working without a hitch. In addition the panels were mounted with brackets that did not require any drilling. They merely were placed under the tiles and the panels bolted on. As a result I expect no leaks.
I reviewed other vendors and they were mostly all the same. I saw there installations and was not fond of drilling the tiles, conduit everywhere and systems not yet on line. In addition I did not have to make payment until the entire system was installed and on line. The other companies wanted 1/3 at the start followed by 1/3 in the middle and 1/3 at the end.

I had a bunch of different solar company quotes. Trust me there's a allot  of quacks out there .  Adam with Palomar Solar was very straightforward and honest with everything. He actually helped me look at some of the other quotes I received and what these other companies were promising.  Some things didn't quite jive. He was very good about sitting down with me and going over some of the false promises made by these other companies.   The installation was done extremely quickly and we got the permits within a week after the install.  I have recommended Palomar to our neighbors and friends.

Really good guys to work with.  I was ready to have them do the work but they just couldn't beat the other company's electrical generation performance (and thus price to me).
