Regarding design, Virgil and Russ (design guy) worked with us to ask what we wanted out of our landscape plans. We met for about an hour, and a few weeks later, we met to go over the initial design. They delivered a set of exquisite plans that obviously took into account a great deal of intelligent thought about what my husband and I were looking for.

Regarding execution of the design, we decided to execute on 2/3 of the plan, building a pool and landscaping the majority of our backyard, but leaving the front yard and side yards for the future. The work the crew did was fantastic. They were very professional, and Virgil was extremely responsive to our communications throughout the whole process. He was willing to bring in new subcontractors that he'd not worked with before (we really wanted PebbleSheen for the pool).

Ten months later, and we truly love our yard, and we will absolutely use MCV again to finish the project.

This is the second home I have owned and we completely renovated the first one so I have hired a lot of contractors. Virgil is by far the best contractor I have ever hired. Our landscaping is beautiful and the cost was less than the other bids we received ($50,000-60,000). His bid was also far more detailed and he was the only one to give us a detailed computer generated design plan (which he also provided within a couple of days as opposed to a week or more). He broke the price down to every detail and worked within our budget by lowering his price a few thousand dollars. He did not ask for any money up front for materials unlike the other 2 landscapers we interviewed. He always answers his cell phone or calls back within an hour. He does a lot of the work himself and visited the site daily. His crew cleans up after themselves at the end of the day. He is a perfectionist and made sure we were happy with every detail of the work and addressed every concern without hesitation or resistance. Some of the work was more involved than he originally planned but he reassured us that his price would only change if we made major changes in the plan. I am hiring him to maintain our landscaping. He also does general contracting/pools and I plan to hire him again to add a couple of outdoor fireplaces when my budget allows.
