"I would love to be able to tell you if there is dirt in the cracks but it is not visible until the resin is injected into the rock chip/crack, it is at this time that the dirt is drawn to a void area in the broken glass and is completely surrounded by the resin. The reason this happens is to maintain the strength and safety of the repair, if the dirt was spread throughout the entire crack the bond would be week and fail defeating the purpose of the repair. So in short there is know way I can tell until the repair is in progress. ((For best quality repairs timely repair is # 1 less time exposed to the elements the less contaminates enter the break. #2 no water or cleaning products should be used to clean the break also condensation and dew are also bad as water draws dirt into the break and there is no possible way to remove dirt. This happened on Thursday the 25th of October. I was going out of town
so I called Mark on Friday from my place of work in Rancho Bernardo. He
said he'd be in my parking lot in 1/2 hour and he was right on the
money. He finished the repair in about 20 minutes while I went back
inside and worked. As he said and quot;repair is not a miracleand quot; and if you know
where the crack was, you can see a slight chip but by and large it is
completely gone and I'd challenge anyone to find it if they didn't know
where to look. Mark was professional, prompt, did good work and it was a
heck of a lot cheaper than a new windshield. I'd use his service again
and recommend it to friends.
