LAND DOCTOR LANDSCAPING

About us

Land Doctor Landscaping was established in 1980. Throughout the years, our staff has taken great pride in executing visions and creating and maintaining timeless landscapes.   Our projects are not viewed as another job but as an opportunity to create custom landscaping which families can enjoy with total satisfaction every day while entertaining or just relaxing.   Being a small family business, I am proud to share that most of my employees have been loyal members of my crew since I started my business over 32 years ago. I realize the importance of the entire team working together as one to maintain and sustain our vision of complete customer satisfaction and landscapes that bring continual pleasure.   Many of our projects have been featured and enjoyed during annual spring garden tours in Rancho Santa Fe and Escondido area residences.

It was very bad. I shopped at Evergreen and picked up a Land Doctor business card at the front desk since a sale person there said he looked like a nice person. Shawn, the owner of Land Doctor, showed up on time, appeared to be nice and professional. He gave us an estimate of $4300 to install grass in our back yard. His estimate came in the middle (8 K from Armstrong Garden). We read the reviews about Shawn Rogers but did not believe it , we thought we should give him a chance. After we signed a contract, he appeared to be hungry and asked for money right a way. I felt uncomfortable but gave him 50% of the cost. After he started the job, he asked to re-adjust the cost to $5100. We agreed since we wanted to him to do a good job. I knew as the time he did not put in enough top soil and did not re-adjust sprinkler systems as he promised. I told him and he assured me that it was fine. After the grass was installed, he suggested us to watered the grass twice a day for a month and we even water few spots after work (water bill went to $500). The grass started to turn brown. We called him, he came out replaced few spots once. But the grass continued to die. We called him and sent him emails, he did not get back to us. $5100 is a lot of money...

Overall, he was really trying to keep the prices down, so that was good, but he put too much slope on this one part. He added some flagstones to extend the patio, and the slope is too extreme, it's too much of a slope.
