We had Danny come out to take a look at our Noritz Tankless water heater.  The unit was shutting down on us intermittently.  Other plumbers couldn't figure out the problem.  Danny was persistent and went the extra mile to ensure that we get the problem fixed.  Danny was a pleasure to work with.  He was on the time, polite, and generous with his time.  I/we would highly recommend his services.  We'll be calling him next time we have any plumbing issues.

Danny installed a water heater for us 5 years ago. It stopped working but is still under warranty. Without looking at it, he said it needed an upgraded kit. I then spent 45 on the phone with the water heater company who said the kit had been sent and installed last year. What was needed was a new control valve which was diagnosed by the gas company, not Danny. After receiving that, Danny said he would be there the same day, but he didn't show up until over 24 hours after and arrived 2 1/2 hours after he called to say he was on his way. A week later, the water heater is not working again. Again, without looking at the problem, Danny said that he can report it as a "leaker" in order to get a new one. He blames the water heater company for making poor quality water heaters, yet he is the one who recommended and installed it. When I called him to report it not working again, he says I should find a new plumber because this is "ridiculous" that it's not working. He hung up on me when I asked him for my money back for the work he did that failed.
Response from Danny Boy Plumbing
"Five years ago I installed an American Water Heater for her because I believed it to be a quality product. Since that time I’ve had to repair parts in many of the American Water Heaters--which I’ve done successfully--and now recommend Rheam. I found the correct part for her water heater at my supply house, but she chose to call the company for free parts. I explained that she would need a control box and a thermocouple. When she called to tell me she’d ordered the control box I asked about the thermocouple. She stated that the time she’d spent on the phone with the company had been too stressful and that she’d rather do anything than call them again. I told her I would try to make it work for her and to call me when the part came in. I am my only employee, and can’t always make it to a customer immediately, but I get to them in the order that they call as soon as I can. I have a family to support, and therefore I strive to give my customers the very best care. She knows this, otherwise she would not have called me back this many years later. I installed her part making sure she understood that I do not warranty parts that don’t come from me. Her water heater worked for a week and I offered to come look at it for her for free, but because it was already late afternoon and I had other customers to get to I wouldn’t be able to make it out to her until the next day. Had she gotten the correct parts in the beginning, either from me at my cost, or from the company, none of this would have happened. Instead, she has insulted me, my service, and my reputation.
