They are wonderful. It was better than buying a new one. They were very nice, everyone was great. The staff was wonderful and the guy would call to let me know what was going on and the girl was always there to schedule things. They were here on time. They called me from the job they were at to let me know they were coming here.

Great Service from start to finish. If your TV is broken, call these guys first, you might not have to spend thousand for a new one. I highly recommend this company!.

We described the problem with our TV over the telephone. They told us we needed to have a capacitor replaced. We drove all the way to Escondido and left the TV, paying $40 as a minimum for having the TV checked out. They said it would be ready the next day, and it was. They replaced several capacitors, so the cost was higher, but if the TV continues to work and we don't have to buy a new one, it was a good deal! Everyone we dealt with was very friendly and professional.

I called the company and told them what was going on with the TV. They made an appt. for me which I changed twice because of my changing work schedule--they were very accommodating. I was given an estimate. The repairman came out. He checked the TV. He fixed it. He programed it so that I could more easily use it. He charged me less than the estimate. I was very pleased with the service that I got.

I was very pleased with his honesty and down to earth analysis of potential fixes. My TV had been producing a strobe effect (when using HI-DEF) before completely dying. In the past I have had repair people who 'fixed' things which again were in trouble within a few months.

While others told us to junk this expensive TV and replace it, or to send in the media receiver for expensive ($600+) repairs, Captain Video came to the house, disassembled the media receiver on the spot, soldered some connections, and everything is now working fine. How is that for making Angie's list worth the membership price? Captain Video came here and diagnosed and attacked the problme that others weren't willing or able to touch.

Beyond our expectations

My big surprise was the company explaining that the part I needed to replace could be done by a consumer. They gave me both the name and phone number where I could purchase the part an if I wanted them to do the service, what the cost would be. I decided to buy the part from eBay and replace the lamp myself in about 15 minutes. Captain Video TV Repair Service saved me about $200.00. I don't think I have ever had a more forthright response for an in-home repair than I received from Captain Video. While I have never met any of the staff, my guess is that this is a very reliable company with a great deal of integrity.

I called Captain Video when I couldn't figure out why the new lamp from Mitsubishi was still giving me a red "bad lamp" light. I talked to a knowledgeable person immediately who, rather than try to schedule a service visit, gave me some advice on how to figure out if the lamp was correctly installed. I couldn't go through all the steps at that time, so I arranged to talk with them when I got home at the end of the day. The company representative promised to stay late so she could walk me through those next steps. At the end of the day, she had not only stayed late, but also put me on the phone with an even more senior technician who spent another 20-30 minutes walking me through even more steps to make sure that the new lamp was installed properly. It was , but the lamp still didn't work, so they recommended that I get a new lamp under warranty from Mitsubishi. Through all of this, I was impressed that Captain Video had me talking directly with extremely knowledgeable technicians to troubleshoot the problem with my HDTV before determining if they should come out to the house for any kind of repair work. All told, they spent over 45 minutes with me on the phone in two different calls. All of this cost no money to me, and I will definitely call them if I have any more problems with my HDTV.

THEY CAME TO OUR HOUSE AND WERE EXTREMELY HELPFUL, COURTEOUS, AND VERY NICE PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH. THEY WERE FAST AND THE WORK THEY DID WAS DONE EXTREMELY WELL.

THE GENTLEMAN WHO CAME WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL. HE SHOWED UP ON TIME. HE SPENT A LONG TIME TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE TV. HE ENDED UP HAVING TO ORDER SOME PARTS. AS SOON AS THE PARTS CAME IN, HE CAME BACK AND FIXED THE TV. HE SPENT A LOT OF TIME EXPLAINING TO MY FATHER-IN-LAW WHAT WAS WRONG, AND WHAT HE WAS DOING TO FIX IT. WE REALLY APPRECIATED HIS PATIENCE AND PROFESSIONALISM.

THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL. TOOK THE TIME TO EXPLAIN WHAT WENT WRONG WITH THE TV AND WHAT HE NEEDED TO DO. IT WAS VERY CONVENIENT HAVING IT DONE IN OUR HOME AND DIDN'T TAKE A LOT OF TIME.
