Builders Plus Restoration

We waited for years to remodel our bathroom and were every excited to finally be able. We interviewed several contractors and decided to go with Restoration Plus based on Rod's (owner) convincing us that he "Does it all!" , demo, electrical, plumbing. Lesson #1: Just because they have a license, it doesn't mean they are competent. He wanted money upfront, fair enough. He gave us a "cash discount", Lesson #2 any legitimate business does not "prefer" cash. We offered to do the demo to try to save money, however he insisted that he should do the demo and then preceded to charge us over a third of the entire cost of the remodel! He broke 3 of the bathtub fixtures (requiring us to return/replace them which was easily a 30 mile trip each time). He kept blaming the fixtures as faulty though the new plumber said he had been over tightening them which caused each one to leak. We had to hire another plumber and contractor to fix all the damage he left us (from putting the bathtub angle stops above ground, to stabilizing the fixtures. Rod's idea of solving this problem was to place shims underneath the fixture! Both were appalled at the shoddy work, which was not installed to code! BTW, we are still waiting for him to seal the tile which he promised he would return within 48 hours to do! (Yes, we ended up doing that ourselves too!). I would not recommend this company to worse enemy.
