Post backyard job completion, the grass he replaced in the front where the Bobcat came through to dig the pool, died and Adi refused to replace it, saying our gardner destroyed it. Which was impossible since our gardner hadn't been to our house between the time Adi put it in and it died. Also, the plants on the side of the house soon died because Adi put inadequate irrigation in. He finally added ONE sprinkler five months after the job had completed. One sprinkler is not going to keep that area lush. Also, after receiving an extremely high water bill, we discovered that the water valve that was installed just a few months earlier by Adi wasn't working properly, so we had basically been leaving a hose on for months. That demonstrates the amount of water we wasted.
As Adi and his crew were finishing up the work in our backyard, we needed to remodel our rental condo. We were having trouble with our usual remodeling contacts because they were not insured and our building required insurance. We mentioned what we needed to Adi: bathroom remodel and laminate floor installation. Adi said since he was a general contractor he could do it all and gladly took on the job.
Before our new tenants moved in, just weeks after the work had been completed, we noticed the new flooring buckling. Adi blamed the buckle on water damage (the bathroom sink had backed up while they were doing the initial job), even though the buckle was FAR from the sink. We petitioned the building to pay for the repair, which they did, and Adi "fixed" the buckle. Four months after the work was completed we got a call from our tenants saying that the floor was buckling in SEVERAL places. Adi again blamed it on the leak, even though the buckling was FAR from the sink. We had a flooring person come in and take a look. Turns out Adi's crew didn't leave enough room along the wall for expansion, nor did they properly stagger the wood, per the instructions in the box. Adi asked to have his own flooring guy come out and take a look. We gave him over 2 weeks to do this, which he never did. We ended up paying to have the floor redone by professional flooring people SIX months after we paid Adi to do it!
We have given Adi weeks to figure out a way to repay us for the floor work. He has been completely unresponsive. We've texted, sent emails, called. No response.
Since all this work was done, Adi and his brother closed down Dekel and Associates and are now going under Dekel Homescape Inc.. We are planning on doing everything we can to make sure no one else gets such poor work and service from these guys including writing about it where we can, talking to the BBB, and filing a small claims suit.
