I would caution anyone looking to hire Capital Deck & Stair for a waterproofing project. In good faith, we entered into an agreement for a standard rooftop waterproofing effort. The first and only time I met the overseeing contractor was the first day. All our interactions were only with sales rep, who gaslighted the entire process. Trades were unsupervised- as a result, shoddy workmanship and damage to my property ensued. They also sent a registered letter -two days into the job of an impending lien if payment was not received. The supervising office manager sent a final invoice- surprised and stating ignorance if these issues. However, to date, they have refused accountability on damages and, the work effort was abandoned. I had to bring in third parties to remediate their work and overall very negative and stressful experience.

Excellent in appearance and professionalism. They took lots of little extra steps to make it look perfect, and the leader of the team even worked on July 4 to get it done!. No chance to test waterproofing yet because it hasn't rained, but their multi-year warranty is great.

The work was done efficiently and they did a beautiful job. We knew the balconies needed work, but beyond the railings, we didn't know what we needed to do. Steve at Capital Deck gave the most clear and concise explanation of what we needed. We had talked to at least three other companies. Capital responded quickly. The work took less time than they had projected and the work was minimally intrusive. The company was responsive. Their price was very competitive. We had easy and smooth communication. I would not hesitate to use them again.

"We are sorry you feel that way after all the discounts we gave you, not to mention the extra care we took with you and your tile contractor. The extra cost associated with this deck was the underlying wood that needed to be replaced due to deck not being maintained. We refuse to leave bad wood. We always leave the option for the customer to hire someone else to fix the bad wood. This job was to prepare for tile, and the final product did not have a finish. It is meant to be waterproof underneath tile, and specifically not meant to be seen. If there is anything we can do to make your experience better, please contact us!"

Did a good job with personable staff who worked quickly. But once they decided the primer was not actually required, they did the staining only - essentially half the contracted amount of work -.yet tried to collect the full contracted amount. This was negotiated amicably to their minimum, which was a lot more than the half we figure we owed them. All's well that ends well, but we recommend you make sure all the details for your job are clearly spelled out in your contract.

Due to the heavy rains, all the waterproofing companies were busy. Capital responded promptly to my initial inquiry (in fact, I got two separate people calling in response to my email on the same day). Steve showed up exactly on time for the estimate, and after I asked them to do the repair they scheduled the work within two weeks. (The other company I was thinking of using was scheduling two MONTHS out.) Everything was finished in five days, including haul away of all the debris. They did not ask for any deposit; all payment was done on job completion.

Andre and his crew were on time, did the work in the promised number of days, and cleaned up spotlessly. The finished product was perfect. To add to all this, they were honest. The final bill was $210 less than the estimate because some of the work turned out not to be needed. Most contractors would have done the work (or not) and charged the $210. I would use this company again in a heartbeat.

It is difficult to find contractors that show the level of professionalism and quality that Capital Deck has provided for us.  Too many times I have been burned by empty promises by contractors.  It is a serious breath of fresh air doing business with a contracting firm run by the father son duo.  From the initial assessment of the job, quote, delivery, to completion.  I was informed on items that should be added, but also told other portions are unnecessary.  I cannot say the same for the competition, which I also got quotes from or have dealt with previously.  We will definitely be using Steve for future projects.
