I cannot say enough about Oriental Rug Pros of Encinitas. They do excellent work and the cost is well worth it. Daniel is very knowledgable and enjoys sharing this knowledge with his customers. Highly recommended even for the most fragile heirloom rugs.

Very well. Justin came the day after I talked to him. He was prompt, quiet, professional, thorough, and efficient. He gave us some good advice on maintenance and preservation. This is the first rug appraisal we have had so I don't have anything to compare it to but I feel confident in his appraisal. I was not thrilled with the appraisal value because the sellers said it was from a different place and valued quite a bit higher. Anyway, it is good to know where we stand and I am very glad we did it. It cost $350. $100 per rug with certificate and $50 house call.

They did a really good job.  They picked it up, repaired it, and brought it back to us.  I was very happy with their service.

I do not mind bringing and picking up my valuable carpets to this company's location because the work was, as it always has been for 10 years - excellent. The facility is located in a semi-rural area of Encinitas, CA. I actually enjoy going there.
It took longer than expected to finish the work, and I had some difficulty at the door because the work is performed in rooms attached to living quarters. Again, I didn't mind since I wouldn't take my good rugs anywhere else.

They are very professional and knowledgeable about fine rugs. I was concerned about them cleaning a rug so I could get it insured, i.e. it was uninsured when they cleaned it. But they did an excellent job and were punctual. They also cleaned a junk rug from my playroom that I was going to get rid of and it restored it back to life. Highly recommend.

Sent pictures via email to get quotes and show what I wanted repaired. Offered great and quot;May Specialand quot; for cleaning that if I dropped off rugs they would be cleaned for much less than usual. Discussed repairing in email, including costs, then by phone. The repair costs seemed to be a reasonable price per hour that was comparable with another company. However, the breakdown in communication between what was actually done, what it would look like, and what the cost would be, was major.

When rugs were returned 6 weeks after dropping them off, one had not been repaired. When I left messages about my dissatisfaction with the major increase in cost and my repair issues, no return calls were received. My husband finally called to say he needed a quote, and that call was returned quickly, however.

In the end, I took one rug back and a few stitches were put in to repair it...not what I had in mind. Rugs looked good from a cleaning perspective. Repairs, not satisfactory at all.

Pros: They do know about oriental rugs. Cleaning is good.

Cons: Make sure you know exactly what you are getting done for repairs, how it will look, what it will cost. Get it in writing.
Don't expect quick service. It was 6 weeks before rugs were returned.
If you are not satisfied, don't expect them to call you promptly, or at all, to discuss problem or make it right easily. The payment check was cashed and my husband was told and quot;well, you're not getting any money backand quot; when he was just calling to find out what it was going to take to get them to call me back to discuss the problem.

Would not use them again.
Response from RUG PROS
"In Response To the member First we discussed what was to be done via e-mail (14 e-mails to be exact) so we could come to an understanding of what was to be done, and the most economic way of doing so. Then the member took advantage of our may special (Super Tuesday Special). If you bring your rug in and pick it up we were offering to clean any rug for $2 per square foot. She had a hand made in Pakistan 8x10 Bhohkara and another 8.5x12 rug made in India. With the special she saved $182.00. The Bhohkara needed to be evened out on both ends and a Belgian stitch across both ends to secure the work. Sixteen feet of repair at $35.00 per hour all done by hand. The other rug did not need to be repaired nor did we charge her for it! When the repair and cleaning were completed 2 1/2 weeks later we tried to contact the member, but she did not return the call for 2 weeks. She finally returned our call letting us know that she was out of town and would pick up the rugs when she returned. For the May special the customer is supposed to bring in and pick up their own rug, however, since the member was still out of town we kindly delivered the rugs to her house on June 18th 2012 free of charge. When we got there she had left her husband with a check for the cleaning cost only, then he kindly wrote us another check for the correct amount which included the repair she ordered. The cleaning on the 8x10 Bhohkara came to $160.00 and the repair for that rug (sixteen feet in total with fourteen hours of labor) came to $490.00. The cleaning on the other 8.5x12 rug made in India came to $204.00 for a total bill of $854.00. We only charged the member for the work that she ordered which was cleaning 2 rugs and repairing the Bhohkara. Later when the member finally returned home ,she brought in her 8.5x12 Indian rug to be inspected. At that time , while she waited in our shop, we then did a 1/2 hour of work on a small section of the selvage as a preventative measure and did not charge her at all for that work. We always give our customers great value. For cleaning and repair a rug can take up to 3 weeks, and for our full immersion ,triple rinse cleaning we have a 7-10 day turn-around. Sincerely, Oriental Rug Pros"

I had 6 oriental rugs that needed cleaning. My 7 -year-old 8' X 10' oriental rug had never been cleaned; another rug had been soiled by our dog when she was ill. I found Oriental Rug Pros on Angie's List, called them, and they scheduled to come out 2 days later. Two men came out. looked at all the rugs and gave me a fantastic estimate. They explained the process to me so I understood what would happen during the cleaning process from start to finish and how long they would have my rugs. I decided to use their service. They took my rugs and two weeks later all 6 rugs were delivered back to me. I could not believe my eyes: All 6 rugs looked like they did when I bought them 7 years ago. My kids were even bragging about how new they looked. Justin put all the rugs back in their respective places for me. They stayed true to their estimate: No surprises. The cost was $470 for 6 beautifully cleaned rugs! FANTASTIC service!

This is the best cleaning my rugs have had in a long time. We had recurrent odor in one of the rugs because of an incontinent dog. I have had the rug cleaned twice before since the dog passed away, only to have the odor return each time the weather warmed up. I hired Rug Pros because their website advertised their special moisture extraction machine. Finally, my rugs no longer smell when we have warm days! Rug Pros were prompt in their response to my enquiries and provided the service on time. I was very pleased.
