20 September 2017 Angie's List Review of Heller the Homeseller Realtor My name is Keith Shean and I selected Heller to be our realtor to sell our house in Scripps Ranch (San Diego, CA) in May 2017. During the interview process of three realtors, we selected Heller because their representative (and we assumed the realtor who would represent us) seemed so professional, knowledgeable and conscientious. We never saw that realtor again. A second-stringer next came to the house to take measurements and walk through the house very quickly. I provided him with an extensive list of improvements we had made over the previous 21/2 years (owned solar, new roof, new hardwood floors, complete painting of the inside of the house, and the extensive re-design and installation of a water-friendly yard front and back). These improvements had receipts worth $140,000. This agent did not even take the fact sheet or seem interested. We also tried to get him to recognize that the house property extended much farther down the hill. Again, he was not interested. We looked at like listings in the area and then added 50% of our improvements costs. We gritted our teeth as virtually no potential buyers even came to look at the house the first two weeks (three total that left cards). The realtor continually wanted us to come down on the price by $60,000, and never called or tried to communicate unless we initiated it. We fired Heller for lack of performance and took the house off the market but still had to endure another 30 days of no sale because we had a contract with Heller. We sold the house for the Heller recommended price plus $60,000 the first three days the house was again available for sale. Our experience was worse that bad with Heller. We will assume that we just got an incompetent realtor in our dealings with Heller and that not all their agents perform in this manner.
