I called ETV to inquire about how much it would cost to fix my Yamaha DSP-A1 surround sound amplifier (I had it repaired once at another store, and a speaker blew immediately after so I wanted to have it checked again). ETV told me that it would cost somewhere in the region of $75 + parts. When I took it to ETV, the person there said it would actually cost $125 + parts. I decided to go with them anyway, and they advised that it would take 1 to 2 weeks to run the diagnostics. I heard nothing for a 10 days or so so I called and was advised that by 1-2 weeks, they meant 2 weeks. I didn't hear anything after the 2 week mark, so I called again and left a message. Then I got a call back saying that it had been checked out (a while ago too it seemed from the person on the phone), that nothing was wrong with the unit and that it was ready to be picked up. I was surprised that I had to phone to find this out. I picked up the unit and it cost me $30-40 for the diagnostic, which I thought was a fair price. In summary, they performed the service I expected them to, but was confused by the pricing and not overly happy with the passive communication. I may go back to them in the future, but not without comparing them to others.
