The guy who came out is extremely honest, and did a great job. He makes you aware if the job you're looking to be done isn't within his skill set, he'll tell you. He's pretty good at managing his schedule, which is nice, as well as keep communication strong. I would recommend him!

Robert Kanter, AKA OddjobRob, responded to a call for help over the holidays. The homeowner needed a new back door replaced along with a utility door that suffered dry rot. Rob responded to the call within 48 hours (despite my expected holiday backup delays.) Because of a rainy forecast, Rob agreed to do the work in a week, with the offer that if there was a break in the rain he would arrive sooner. True to his word, he called on an afternoon there was a break in the rain, and that's when the fun began. Rob evaluated both projects and in both cases determined new doors were not needed. Instead he installed weather stripping on a rear door and replaced and moved the damaged hinges to save the exterior utility door. In addition, I asked if he could look at a few interior doors that were no longer staying closed. With a carpenter's eye he corrected each problem we showed him. Rob is the kind of repairman we wish we could all have: prompt, efficient, caring and cost conscious. On top of that, he's genuine. A good neighbor. Thank you Rob for your service. A lighting fixture chain broke in my bedroom walk-in closet.  Since it was on the ceiling wasn't sure if we should replace the whole system with a switch or replace the chain. I called Rob for advice on what to do. He recommended we replace the fixture chain if not the whole fixture itself, but he had to come by to take a look. We got along immediately over the phone and he said he didn't text so phone call would be best. 
We decided on a schedule and had someone meet him there.  Payment he let me know would be done by check and that he could accept payment once job was completed.  I confirmed him the time of the appointment once more the morning of.  Even though he must have had other jobs that day he arrived on time at the correct address.
After the work was completed which took an hour, he called me and left me a message report of the job completed.  He replaced the lighting fixture and charged me appropriately.  The whole experience was trouble free, professional and efficient. I would not hesitate to work with Oddjob Rob again on all my household fixes.

Rob showed up on time, very responsive to my questions and concerns, examined the door, and fixed it. I appreciated his comments, in answer to my questions, on alternative (and more elaborate, more expensive and, as he pointed out, unnecessary) solutions to this door and another one.

Oddjob Rob arrived reviewed the leak (hot) and quickly determined the fix. Oddjob Rob turned off the water, turned on all water faucets to drain any water in the line, unscrewed the faucet stem replaced the worn washer with a new washer, screwed the faucet stem in place, turned on the water. Tested the leaking faucet by turning it on and off. No leak!!

Rob arrived on time with the replacement door (wood). He was experiencing some difficulty removing one of the hinge pins on the old door. After applying a liquid remedy he was able to overcome the problem. Rob removed the key lock and door handles before taking the door off its hinges. Rob measured the door frame again, using them he cut and shaved the replacement door. After placing the door in the door frame twice and making two minor cuts adjustments to fit. Rob hung the replacement door with a little adjustment. Rob then inserted the existing key lock and added the door handles were I wanted them. I asked Rob to secure my rear screen door. Rob added a pen lock to secure my screen door.
