LAZAR LANDSCAPE DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION INC

After purchasing a new home we continued to use this landscaper.  They were unresponsive and I am not sure they really did much for $550 dollars a month.  Never did what we asked them and were only able to repair sprinklers and things after we identified the issues to them.

Overall, Lazar did an excellent job with the design and construction of this project. The Lazar construction team did an excellent job with quality control, especially when they were laying the flagstone. For example, if a piece of flagstone just didn't "look right" the team leader was quick to identify this issue and resolve it without us having to say a word. At the end of the day, they always cleaned up after themselves and kept the areas as clean as possible. Also, we have a dog and they were very good about making sure the gates were closed and the area was secure so our dog couldn't escape. The design team did a great job working with us and providing their expertise and experience. However, it comes at a higher cost than some other landscape designers. The bad. They sub out some of their work and the quotes they provided were significantly higher than what I found. For example, their electrical quote was 4 times higher than what I found and their fence quote was 3 times higher (for the same work). These bids are why I gave a "C" rating for their Price. Additionally, we had a front gate built and installed that was sub'ed out to someone they recommended. The gate had 3 glass panels in it and the contractor installed them with scratches on them! We had to point it out to the contractor and Lazar team (who looked quite embarrassed). What was disappointing was that the scratches were very big (about 6 inches) and the contractor installed the panels anyway. They had the gate fixed but a 2 day job turned into about 2 weeks. I gave a "B" for their responsiveness because we're still waiting for them to follow-up on fixing our grass and replacing some of our dead plants. While there were some bumps in the road, we're very happy with the overall design and construction of our landscaping.
