I initially contacted another plumber who never returned the call. We'd used Abante before as they are local and we learned that they can respond promptly to emergencies. The plumber arrived right on time. He completed the job in about an hour as he had to stabilize a flange and reinforce a seal in preparation for installing the toilet. The cost seemed reasonable. I am extremely pleased with this company. I'll call them first next time.

I called Abante and they said they would call me back as soon as they located a plumber. I was called within minutes and was given the name of a plumber who would be coming out. He was punctual, assess the problem and had to leave to get another part. He explained everything to me and repair was completed in a timely manner. He was very friendly, efficient and professional.
I have used Abante in the past and have always been happy with their work.

Very easy and smooth. Came over in 2 hours, within a window we'd agreed on. Guy was very nice, easy to talk to. No problems. Was done in less than 30 minutes. Seems like he did a good job. Know that they usually charge more coming to Walnut Creek, but I didn't have to this time.

I called on Saturday evening around 6pm and Abante came out in about half an hour. The guy was polite and competent.

They are very prompt and very good. The guy who comes out is very good. I called them on Friday night and he came out the next morning; he was going to come out that night. They do very good work.

A freind had used Abante last year and I remembered that they had done a good job with a reasonable price. Called and they came the next morning. Aldo was prompt, efficient, and gave me some good advice. His tools are better than mine of course and he had both drains running like new in no time. Would use them again for any plumbing problem.

I called to get bid the dispatcher misunderstood and sent someone on his way with a water heater. Apart from this one hitch, everything worked our to my satisfaction. Aldo the technician was excellent, very professional I would hire them again!

My bathtub suddenly stopped draining, and then started to back up and fill with water when I ran the kitchen sink. I called Abante on a Sunday afternoon, and they answered right away and set up an appointment for Monday morning at the time I asked for. They gave me a one-hour window and showed up within that window. Moises, the plumber who came out, was very nice and professional. He took a look at the bathtub and the kitchen sink, as well as at my toilet and bathroom sink, and then snaked through the bathtub. He also noticed that I was missing a rubber washer from around the bathtub pipe (which I had knocked off trying to mess around with the pipe myself). He managed to completely clear the drain with his snake, and he had an appropriately sized replacement washer in his truck, which he put on for me so it wouldn't leak. I really appreciated their responsiveness and that they were relatively inexpensive. They made it all extremely convenient, for a plumbing problem!

On 12/30/2009 big crisis: water was coming up the kitchen drain and nearly spilling over the sink. I did not have access to the internet/computer at the time and could not access Angie's List -- had to rely on the yellow pages. First place I called (big ad) quoted what I thought a very high price; called another very well known plumbing service; the rep said a plumbing technician would be there in about an hour. I waited two and a half hours - no show. Called the service after an hour, then two, each time they promised and finally said that their person was held up on a previous job. (Nice of them to let me know.) It was 10pm and after bailing out the sink, I figured I could wait till first thing tomorrow. I was able to access the internet and tapped into Angie's List -- called Abante. They were prompt, professional, polite. It was New Year's Eve and the plumbing technician (PT) came even earlier than the initial appointment time. My unit is on the first floor of a condo, with garage underneath. After listening to my description of the problem/event the previous day, the PT checked the piping in the garage, checked my other sinks, bathtub drain -- in other words was very thorough. My kitchen drain was "snaked" and the PT made recommendations for the HOA to do a total cleanout as my unit was getting the brunt of blockage which was in the main -- as the lowest unit, the water was backing up into my kitchen sink. I paid, a receipt was given, the cost will be reimbursed to me by the HOA. I was very pleased with Abante's service. I would recommend and would use again if the need arose.

Service rep came out and was extremely courteous and pollite. Was late on the first visit due to traffic so missed the window by about 20-25 minutes. When he arrived, he went right to work. Corrected the first toilet so it didn't run constantly after flush. Noted that flushing seemed a bit slow however so had to have him work on it after I pointed out it was running slower than he had seen it flushing before he started on it.. Second toilet he replaced flapper - no issue. Third toilet he checked it out, made adjustment to the line.. replaced the pipe into the toilet and tightened.. checked with toilet paper under and saw no leak. A few hours later - I checked the third toilet.. felt it moist around the line below the entry to the toilet tank. Put plastic garbage bag flat under tank.. next morning.. small puddle of water on it. Also first toilet still not flushing completely upon one push of handle. Called them. Sent him back out. This time he fixed the leaking toilet after he saw the water by replacing the gasket at bottom of ballcock to tank. Leak was fixed.. no more issue! :-) Ended up having a 3rd call where he stopped by to deal with first toilet. After several iterations he was able to adjust it so it flushes completely after one push on the handle. A couple of notes worth mentioning to others reading this review: 1. Don't go with someone who hasn't been doing plumbing for at least 5-7 years. THat was my question immediatley upon calling this service provider before proceeding. This provider is experienced. 2. You need to compare how it worked to how its working after the repair. You (the consumer) are responsible to make sure you are satisfied. 3. If you have a toilet which is an unusal variety or special "water saving" model, go out and buy/order a ballcock assembly. Plumbers don't always carry the full replacement part. This provider didn't have my ballcock so he had to do some repair to one of the ones I had. It worked and he could swap out some parts but would have been simpler to have the assembly to quickly swap out. I would definitely recommend this provider again. They got the job done and are knowledgeable. No issue with my needing the follow-up by them. I believe they take pride in having satisfied customers.

Originally, Aldo from Abante fixed 2 leaky toilets, which he did quickly, reasonably and professionally. So we asked for an estimate on the larger job of fixing the "banging" noise that kept occurring after toilet flush, water running, etc. While looking at that job, he suggested that we also have the hot water pipes wrapped to insulate them. So we had him come back for that job, and he once again did the job quickly and professionally - and for less than the estimate!

Aldo did a great job clearing the problem. I called first thing in the morning and he arrived a few hours later and got right to work. There were a lot of roots down there, so it wasn't an easy job to clear it. I'm very happy when I can find companies like this on Angie's List.

Moises was here for almost 2 hours. He was not too talkative but also willing to clearly explain things when I asked him questions. He was not condescending or brash as other people I've experienced in the past. I felt their price was very fair and well worth the service. I would definitely use them again.

It went very well. I believe a plumber (Francisco) was scheduled and appeared only one day after I called. He arrived within the appointed time and did both repairs. He did have to return to re-fix the toilet as it still was not functioning properly, but the appointment was scheduled quickly, with apologies, and it was fixed on the second visit. Francisco was professional and quick and very personable.

My initial phone call was taken right away and an appointment was set up for the next day. There was excellent communication. On the day of service Moises, the technician, even called me to let me know he was running a bit late and he asked me if that was OK...I appreciated him calling me. He arrived a bit later and got to work "snaking" my kitchen sink drain. I asked him to show me what he was doing and he did, explaining everything along the way. I had other questions as well, not related to the clogged sink, and he answered them clearly and happily. A very charming and polite young man! He was in and out within about an hour. I was charged the base rate. The whole experience was actually rather fun. I definitely recommend this company.

The plumber worked quickly and efficiently, completing a checklist of jobs in about 3 hours.

The gentleman who performed the repair was professional, polite, efficient and extremely neat. He arrived within 20 minutes of the call and took care of the problem in very short order. We've used other plumbers for various plumbing/drainage problems and I always feel as though I need to take a shower and scrub up the house after they leave. Not so with this gentleman. This company will definitely become our plumbing service provider of choice.

Quick, polite response, the tech was here within the hour. He was also polite and efficient, and my total charge was only the service call charge of $89.50.

I was very pleased with the contractor from start to finish. The initial response to my call for assistance was courteous and concerned, and I was assured that a technician, Francisco, would be notified immediately and could be expected within an hour--which he was. Francisco was also courteous, professional, and efficient. The work was completed within an hour, the drains re-checked, and I was provided a clear explanation of the problem--including suggestions for having the sewer line, which was broken, repaired at minimal expense. I took advantage of the company's senior discount.

I got a call from a tenant about a sewage spill onto the sidewalk. I went to the apartment to check it out and at 5:40 PM called Abante and left a message on their voice mail. I received a friendly and polite return call in less than 30 minutes with a promise to send a service tech out within the hour. "Moises" showed up as promised and snaked the pipe to successfully clear the clog. I've used Abante at least 5 times now. I like that I can always get a hold of them usually on the first call and they always perform the service very promptly. The one time they didn't quite make it in time they gave me an accurate update on the time they'd be there. They are invariably polite and efficient. They've always charged me their base rate ($89.75) for the first hour, except for the time when Moises discovered a corroded waste pipe and p-trap under the sink he was clearing a clog from. He went to the hardware store to get replacement parts and added only $8 to the bill for the parts! Good and honest.
