Terry Steele did some electrical work for me about 4 years ago. I was very pleased with his work and happily added his name to my "Go-To Guy" list for household electrical repairs and modifications. So, when I decided to add a 2nd carriage light to my garage and a pendant light for my front porch, Mr. Steele was my first call. And he didn't disappoint. In fact, he came through BIG TIME, conquering a difficult--make that near impossible--pendant installation that any other electrician would've just said, no can do. His work is clean, precise, of A-one quality, and reasonably priced. He should be your go-to guy, too. (NOTE: Good service providers are busy service providers and Mr. Steel is no exception. So, he's not always easy to get hold of but don't let that deter you. You won't be sorry.)

Terry returned my call within an hour.  He was helpful and professional on the phone and offered some advice.  We set an appointment; he was able to come sooner so he moved the appointment time up which was great for us.  He was great, and everything works perfectly now.

We initially hired Terry to install our replacement smoke alarms, which he did quickly, quietly (well, until he had to test them), and efficiently.  While he was here, we asked his professional opinion about whether or not the outlet arrangement in our garage would support the addition of a refrigerator and a microwave.  He examined the circuits and concluded that we could run the appliances off of one of the circuits, no problem.  To make placement of the appliances more convenient, he added an outlet for us.  In 90 minutes or less, Terry was all done, tidied up (including the pesky drywall dust), and gone.  Steele Electric is now a permanent part of our "home improvements" folder.

Terry Steele was professional and courteous. He gave me a fair and accurate estimate. He performed the work beautifully and on time as promised. I would definitely use him again.

Terry is very professional and a great electrician. He arrived on time. Actually, he was early but called before to make sure it was okay to arrive early. I've had him come back a few other times to fix other problems. Terry stands by his work which you don't see very much anymore. I would definitely hire Terry again and will recommend him to others without hesitation.

Terry was right on time. He checked the issues we had with the outlets in two rooms that were not working. He also checked the plug outside and replaced it. It was loose, had other issues, and had gotten wet inside. He also checked my malibu lighting and set the timer. He told me if the lights didn't come on that evening, then it would need to be replaced. We are confident in his ability, his professionalism and his integrity. This is an honest electrician who really knows his business. He was very thorough in explaining everything to me and then spoke with my husband via cell to also explain the issues to him. We are very satisfied.

We had a lamp catch fire in a bedroom, and the firefighters told us we should have an electrician inspect the electrical system in the room and panel. We were referred to Steele Electric from another Angie's List electrician, and we're glad he did.
He was punctual, communicative, professional during the inspection and made sure we understood the inspection results. We would definitely have him come do additional work.

Perfect in every way. I needed some dedicated electrical power for power tools and equipment in my garage. Got an extremely fair price, the owner-electrician was very good with scheduling, communication, promptness and quality of installation. Everything works perfectly now and really enhances the garage/shop. I no longer have to deal with overloading circuits, blowing breakers or using shop tools on circuits that were not designed for heavy duty use - so if you are doing that now, call this electrician and you can get the problem fixed probably less expensively than you think. This electrician also saw a potential hazard with an improperly sized circuit breaker and offered to replace it for free just so I would not have a fire hazard in my home - that's great service and a very ethical businessman.
I have some other projects planned for my home that require an electrician and Steele Electric will definitely get my business. It's great to deal with a small business (you deal with the owner) that is very fair in its pricing and performs A+ work.

Terry did an excellent job. He was on time, quick to finish and cleaned up. This was the second time we used his services. On his first visit he pulled old wiring from the garage, removed an old junction box and cleaned up the mess. He installed new wiring meeting current code and made some recommendations for electrical work for our upcoming kitchen and bath remodel. He worked all day on this project. It looks great and more importantly, it's safe. He did the described work for a very fair price.
Our home inspector recommended Steele Electric. We are very glad he did. We are very impressed with Terry's work ethic and professionalism. He takes the time to explain what he's doing with a smile and a great attitude. We are pleased to recommend him to other Angie List members.

Terry is the best of the best in Elk Grove and all of Sacramento County. This electrician definately knows his stuff and does a mean clean job and I do clean prestine job and very professional. There were other electrician that wanted to put conduit all around the house and Terry mention that it would not look that good at all. So, Terry had a better idea and knows how to and quot;think out of the boxand quot; as they say. I had neighbors that knows Terry and his work due to the fact they also hired him do to some electrical work for them as well and they totally agree that his work amazingly incredible. I was so lucky to get him as my electrician because anybody that would read this highly recommendation better hurry to book him because he will be busy and there will be a waiting line to get him, but its worth the wait. He takes pride in his work and his work speaks for himself and he has been doing it for along time as you will tell in his work. Thank you Terry you are the best of the best and there is no other electrician like him out there and they are hard to find. By the way, his personality is awesome and too funny and it was great working him as his shadow and mentor showing stuff about electricity and how it works with today electrical technology. Thank you again for a beautiful job well done, Terry and I'm bringing him back for more additional work.



Everybody, who decides to hire him ask what you want and let him do his electrical thing cause he has been doing this work for years and it shows. He knows what looks good and how to do it, give him confidence you will be surprise.

He was able to respond very quickly. We are so pleased with his work and efficiency. I am already looking for more light fixtures for him to install. His pricing is reasonable and fair.

Terry was very responsive and was able to hardwire a new dishwasher for us within 24 hours of our call. He was quick, professional and did a great job. He takes real pride in the work that he does and the results show! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend him or use him again! 5 stars!

This went great!

I did research and picked a candidate fan, then spoke with Mr. Steele about it. He endorsed it as a very good fan (Panasonic) and he was familiar with it. He came by, looked at the bathroom and immediately gave me a quote. I was very clear: and quot;You mean you will walk in, I will give you a box containing the new fan, and when you walk out, I can flip the switch and the fan will start running?and quot; I didn't want any misunderstandings. . . I wanted to know that Mr. Steele would do EVERYTHING except buy the fan (I preferred buying it myself on amazon.com).

We agreed on a date, allowing enough time for the fan to arrive (I called him to confirm it had, indeed arrived) and he showed up on schedule. After a couple of hours, I paid him and he left. Everything went perfectly! He noticed that maybe the bathroom had been upgraded at some point (28 year old house) and the wiring was a bit odd. I thought, and quot;Oh-oh, here comes the price adjustmentand quot; but he took it in stride, pulled power from a different source, and kept the price at the original amount. He laid out a tarp to collect garbage from cutting the hole in the ceiling, etc., and cleaned up afterwards.

He was very efficient, bringing in just the right set of tools from his truck so that he wasn't constantly going back and forth -- I admire that in a contractor, makes me think the guy has done it before and knows what he's doing.

He was also very personable; while we enjoyed chatting from time to time, I tried to stay out of his way so he could concentrate on his job. But each interaction we had went well and I found him very pleasant to work with.

Bottom line: I now have a fan that works great, is quiet, looks very professionally installed and I am a happy camper!

Terry was quick to respond and the appointment was set timely. The work was completed promptly and professionally. I was not able to be in town during his work and my son was there, he say Terry was very knowledgable and presented himself professionally. Our ceiling fan light combo in the kitchen had stopped working and we couldn't figure out the problem. It was 3 days before Thanksgiving and I was having a house full. Terry came over the very next morning, found the problem right away and replaced our fan. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and his price was very fair. We will definitely use him again and recommend him to our friends.

Two outdoor AC outlets in my garden were connected improperly six years ago by a landscaper who is no longer in business. Steele Electric was recommended by another electrician due to the close proximity of this business to my home. It was fortuitous that I called this company since the owner, Terry, was the contractor who did the electrical wiring (not the garden AC outlets) during the construction of the house six years ago. Terry arrived promptly and readily found the electrical problems. Since there would be much digging for the conduits and junction boxes, he advised me on doing it myself, thereby saving subtantially on the labor cost. Indeed, following his safety advice on locating the conduits, I saved at least a week's labor cost. Having found the junction boxes, I set up a second appointment for Terry to reconnect the wiring to a safe configuration. He promptly did so. The two appointments combined took only about one hour and it was a small price ($110) to pay for my peace of mind. In addition, I picked up some valuable information about the power line of the water pump to the well. The two AC outlets were actually tapped onto this power line and that if I had waited too long and not had this corrected, someone's life could have been literally on the line. Terry did an outstanding job and I would highly recommend him for his service.
