Mark represented us when we were looking for a home in Elk Grove. His knowledge of the area and real estate transactions was very helpful. We first became aware of Mark DeGennaro, by way of our Realtor/Broker (and daughter), Natalie Swerkes of First Statewide Realty, Cupertino, CA. She sold our home of 9 years, in San Jose, CA. We needed a Realtor in the Sacramento area (150 miles away) and asked Natalie if she could refer us to an agent. She did a lot of research and came up with the name of Mark DeGennaro. He evidently came highly recommended. We started our relationship with Mark, by way of phone and fax transactions, in May 2013. I did not physically meet Mark until much later that year, when he showed me 2 homes. Both were very nice, but I really liked the one in which we are living now, very much.

For a real estate agent, Short Sales can be quite tedious and many agents do not care for such sales, as the invested time vs commission ratio is not as financially attractive as regular real estate transactions. We really loved this home, but the seller's agent made some major missteps that caused us to lose primary positioning. Had it not been for Mark DeGennaro's knowledge and quick responses, we would probably not be living in our 'dream home'. We were not necessarily looking for a Short Sale, as they can be quite complicated and can take months to process.
  
Mark is a different brand of agent; he actually cares for his clients. Their ultimate satisfaction seems to far outweigh his desire to profit. 
I have known many real estate agents in my life; much like lawyers, there are only a very few that I have ever truly liked. Mark DeGennaro is one of those people.

We finally closed on our home in Feb. 2014 (approx. 8 mos after starting this process). We have lived here now, for roughly 2.5 years. We love our home, our new neighbors and the neighborhood. We have also maintained a friendship with Mark & his lovely wife. Though Mark & I come from completely different, diverse backgrounds, that never seemed to matter to him. I believe that he treats everyone with kindness, friendliness and respect.  He listens carefully to what you have to say, before speaking or offering advice. He never looks at his watch or his phone, when interacting with you; like you are the only one in the room, at that moment, that matters. 

If you need a 'just OK' Real Estate Agent, you could probably go to just about any 'cookie-cutter' agency. If you want a Great Real Estate Agent, call Mark DeGennaro; you'll be very glad that you did!

Great. Mark is a very knowledgeable guy. We had not bought or sold a house for over 27 years. Things have changed. He took us through the process and everything went very smoothely.   He answered all our questions and provided guidance along the way.  He was especially good with marketing of our old house.  The pictures taken were very flattering and he also put us out on Zillow, his own website, etc.   The house was sold in 4 days.

Great experience

There were absolutely no homes for sale when we first started looking at Laguna Lake. Mark showed us other lake communities, but knew we were interested primarily in Laguna Lake. He was Johnny on the spot when the house we wanted came on the market and guided us to the eventual purchase of our dream home.

The transition and transaction went smooth. We achieved a price greater than the listing price. In one rented house, the renter became uncooperative and with Mark's guidance, the renter vacated the property for a timely close of escrow.

The results of working with Mark left nothing else to be desired.  We ended up with a home that my wife and I both love and it all happened in a timely and smooth manner.  Mark handled the details and made us feel comfortable and confident.  He was a great advocate for us with the few areas of friction that arose.  Buying and selling a home is inherently stressful but Mark mitigated this as much as possible and was a complete partner in the process.  I give him my highest recommendation.
