I left a message for Elite at 6:30am and got a reply from Jason by 7:00am, telling me he would try to fit me into his schedule today. On the coldest day of the year, he did not complain about how slammed he was with other calls, all he did was ask for my address and let me know he'd be out today. I will admit that he forgot to tell me when he'd be out, but a quick call to Maryanne in the office and I was told Jason would be here between 12:00 and 2:00. At 12:45, my furnace decided it wanted to work again. I called Maryanne again to ask her to send Jason to someone who was totally without heat today and comeback when they were less busy. Too late. Jason was already in the driveway. Jason said he'd take a look since he was already here. 5 minutes in the attic looking at my custom system (with me hovering) and Jason tells me he need to go down to his truck to get the control board's manual. Again, I have a custom system, what are the chances Jason has the part I need, much less the manual? With Elite, it appears that it's a pretty good chance. Jason found the error code my control board was showing, determined it was a bad heat sensor (which Maryanne had already guessed it was over the phone when I tried to cancel the call), cleaned the heat sensor and showed me how to do it myself in the future if I wanted to. Viola! Furnace now works when I want it to without any unnecessary and expensive parts, just some know how from Jason.
I can't say enough how much I appreciate Elite. In today's world, where customer service is so often lacking and companies just want to sell you parts that they have a huge margin on, Elite go against that model. Elite impresses the heck out of me with their service and willingness to actually troubleshoot what turned out to be a simple fix instead of selling me an expensive part.
I have managed several rental properties for the past 10 years and until I found Elite, I had not found another Heat & A/C company, big or small, that I liked enough to stick with for more than a few service calls. You'll call Elite once and never call anyone else for your heat and A/C needs again.
The team of two that did the work were great, and entertaining. They left a tool and a bucket of screws, and there was confusion over the # and size of the vent covers, so it took a couple visits after the work was done, but they were apologetic and friendly about it all.
I would definitely recommend this company.
Our system wouldn't come on this weekend and a neighbor highly recommended Jason at Elite. Mary Ann answered my call immediately, took down all the pertinent info and arranged to have Jason come out early the very next morning. She was friendly, efficient and very professional. During the course of our conversation, she was even able to troubleshoot a possible cause of our problem... the new roof installed this past week.
Just in case Mary Ann was right about the new roof, I immediately contacted the roofer and he sent a worker over within the hour to see if they could find the problem, but after going on the roof twice and even going into our attic to check all the wiring, the worker couldn't find anything wrong.
Jason, the owner of Elite Heating and Air Conditioning, arrived on time the next morning and within minutes had my system back online. And Mary Ann *was* right - the new roof was the culprit! The wire going from the unit to the thermostat had been pinched by some of the flashing at one point resulting in a short. Jason not only repaired the wire, but modified the flashing so it wouldn't happen again. He really went above and beyond though by taking pictures of the before and after that I can present to the roofer for reimbursement along with a detailed invoice explaining the entire situation.
And all for only $59.00!
Jason was super nice and personable, and like his wife, Mary Ann, very knowledgeable and professional. How refreshing to find a company that is not only efficient, but honest. Jason could have easily told me it was a much bigger problem and charged me oodles of money to fix my system. Even though he didn't make any money on this call, he most assuredly has all of our future business and I will be recommending him to everyone I know.
