Rick at Crackawaypretty much ruined my Mustang. He did work that I specifically told him not to do -- including modifying the cam -- and then charged me for it. The result was a car that was unpleasant to drive and nothing like what I had told him I wanted. I ended up selling it for a huge loss.
To add insult to injury (this was before I saw what he did to my car, of course): While Rick was working on my car (it took a LONG time) he said his business was slow and he was short of cash. Foolishly I loaned him several thousand dollars. Many years later I'm still waiting for him to pay me back.
I can't think of one reason for anyone to have Rick work on their car.
