The custom order was placed promptly, and when it arrived at their warehouse earlier than first predicted, they moved the installation up. Installation was completed in one day, as predicted. The new framing looks good, and the new door and more modern traction system are great improvements

I needed a garage door that would automatically open but my 1947 home did not allow adequate head room to easily install a new door and motor. Golden Gate Overhead Door to the rescue. After talking to another company who came up with this expensive and complicated way to install a new door, Golden Gate said I could my existing door and simply install an automatic door opener motor. I was so happy to learn there was a simpler solution that still got me what I needed. This is a local family operated business which has been in business for awhile. If they weren't professional and knowledgeable they wouldn't be in business this long.

Tim was great: very informative and responsive in the planning stage, and he did an excellent job on the installation. I recommend him for any garage door work.

Tim Humann is the owner of Golden Gate Overhead Door Co. and makes all the installations personally. Tim was on time for the estimate and for the installation appointment. He wrote out his estimate on his first visit and charged exactly that price for the installation. He saved our redwood garage door, which we thought would have to be sacrificed to a metal rollup, by telling us it could and should be saved and recommending a heavier -duty opener to do the job. Tim was pleasant and professional and explained clearly the operation of the door and how we should operate it. This was our first garage door opener after 38 years of owning a redwood garage door with no opener and clearly we waited too long to find the right garage door person. Tim grew up in the business helping his father and has over 20 years experience. I have recommended him to everyone since the installation. The redwood garage door and the system have worked perfectly. Use Tim for your next garage door problem and you won't regret it. I recommend him 100 per cent, on all counts.

Firstly, when I called at 4 pm, they apologized for not being able to come out that same day (I had no expectation that they would be able to, but the apology was nice). Tim (who is the owner) was punctual to the second (much appreciated). He's easygoing but very professional, has over 20 years of experience, and didn't mind me riddling him with questions the entire time he was working. If you're interested, and want to watch, he'll explain everything that he's doing. He actually talked me out of potentially spending more money (I didn't need to get a new opener with a battery backup, I could just get a new vault release, at a cost of $24; our old garage door would last many more years with proper maintenance, etc.). When he didn't have a vault release in his truck, he made an appointment to come back in a couple of days. When he found out he was going to be early to that appointment, he called ahead to make sure that it was okay to come early. A lot of service providers would have charged me for another service call for the second appointment, but Tim didn't. Tim was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Highly recommend.

We have a rolling gate that goes across our driveway and it's a kind of unusual setup. It was here when we bought the house. They were very punctual. They figured out what was wrong. They had to order the part, but it was there the next day. They did some clean up work and lubricated the whole system. I am very pleased and will use them again.

I've been using this company for years and really trust them. My garage door broke on a Saturday and would only close about 2/3 of the way. Since Tim normally only works during the week, I reluctantly called another company who came out and closed the garage door, but didn't fix the problem—causing the door to break again two days later. I had the other company come again (only because I had a warranty), but when it broke a third time, I called Golden Gate. Tim checked everything, explained what was going on and fixed the problem. I'll never call anyone other than Golden Gate again!

They did a good job. We got a good deal on it too. The workers who came out were very pleasant and very professional. They were first rate people and they diagnosed the problem. They fixed it properly and they had all the equipment and parts needed in stock. They got the work done in a couple of hours. Everything works fine. They showed up on time.

They had installed the doors some years earlier. They just came back and did the repair. They were professional and responsive.
