In 2004, he brought in his son, Wyatt Laining, as his lead estimator. The installer was punctual and finished within the estimated time. He was considerate of containing debris during the installation and did a thorough cleanup afterwards. There has been a delay in receiving a magnetic cover for the louvers, but otherwise the price was competitive and the work timely and of good quality.

Alan was right on time.  My central air system was
broken at the time and it was at least 130 degrees in the attic.  Alan
worked through the heat and I had a whole house fan installed by 6pm to use
when the temps dropped that evening.  Worked like a champ.  Alan was
a very personable and professional person and it was fun listening to his
hunting and fishing stories.

Alan first came over to see what we wanted done and suggested we have all of it done at once.  This included the removal of the old ceiling fan, installation of the new one, running wiring in the kitchen so we could use an under-the-sink water heater, and replacement of some outlets, once of which we wanted to change to four plugs.  We hadn't yet selected the ceiling fan so Alan said to call when we had it in hand.  Once our new fan arrived we called Alan and he was able to work us into his schedule within just a few days.  He anticipated the jobs would take 2 - 3 hours.  When Alan came over, the first job he tackled was the ceiling fan.  It turned out that some additional, unexpected work needed to be done in the attic to secure the new fan.   Alan was unable to complete the job that day because of the complication, but was back the next day and completed the fan installation and all the other jobs.  Because of the extra, unexpected work, the final cost was more than originally estimated but was still reasonable.  We're very happy with the new fan and the wiring for the water heater.

Alan was recommended by the folks at The Fanman because they were too swamped with business.  Fanman said Mountain Air was the only other whole house fan company in the Sacramento area they would recommend.  That was good enough for me!  Alan arrived on time, with all necessary equipment.  Answered my questions, did the install quickly and efficiently and then cleaned up after himself.  I would recommend either of these business without hesitation.

Sales person was knowledgeable and very helpful.  He did not try to up sell.  All of the people came on time and were very courteous and professional.  Installing this product produced some mess, but when the project was completed, Allen cleaned up completely.  Product has performed exactly as advertised.

Wyatt the salesman was real no snake oil for sale. The process was easy understand start to finish and we love how our home feels with fresh, cool air without taxing our old A/C unit great job.

I'm a big fan of a whole house fan, especially here in Sacramento with the delta breezes. Most nights we run the fan all night, and I am cold in the morning. This is a great feeling because I know how hot the day will get. Also, it is so much easier to keep your house cool and run your AC less when your inside temp starts at 68 degrees, instead of staying in the upper 70-80's just using my AC all the time. The whole house fan is outstanding, and would highly recommend one. Mountain Air does a great job installing, and the product they use is very quality as well. WE had our first fan for 4 years, until we moved and no problems at all with it. We have had our 2nd one for over a year, and no issues. The sound of the fan is not bad, Wyatt will recommend good places to locate it in your house. Overall, they did a great job and I would highly recommend them.

I recently read an article in a health magazine that said a home's inside air quality can be much more toxic than the outside air quality. The inside air becomes stagnant unless we allow fresh air in to circulate. I use my whole house fan often to reinvigorate my home's air quality.
