This report is not a reflection of the El Cajon branch. It is based on the horrible experience we had with getting a mortgage through Wells Fargo. The initial intake interview performed by the mortgage originator was very good. The agent was very helpful, courteous, encouraging and efficient. The issues my wife and I had with the process began when our case was turned over to the mortgage processor. She was totally ignorant of how to process a mortgage. She kept asking for information we had previously sent her. She kept losing copies of various statements we sent her. She argued with our realtor, escrow officer, and home insurance agent. She could never provide us with a complete list of the information we had to supply her with to obtain a mortgage approval. We almost lost our home based on her delaying actions. She treated us like we had poor credit ratings (both my wife and I have credit scores above 800!).
In addition, we had problems arranging bi-weekly payments for our mortgage. Even though we completed and signed all the paperwork to have our account debited twice per month to pay our new mortgage, the paperwork we completed at the close of escrow (settlement) was mysteriously lost. I had to spend 45 minutes on the phone to arrange our mortgage payments.

THEY OFFERED THE SERVICE WHEN I WAS DOING BANKING ONE DAY. TRANSACTION WAS EASY AND FAST. VERY CONVENIENT SINCE IT IS LOCATED AT OUR LOCAL GROCERY STORE.
