After learning that we could install solar panels for no money down, we received 3 quotes for the job, Palomar Solar, Sunrun and SolarTech. Palomar Solar gave me a quote without ever looking at our Electricity bills which we thought was odd. Sunrun was way out of the ballpark and SolarTech was the least expensive. Additionally Mark, SolarTech’s Rep spent a few hours with us looking over past SDGE bills and asking about future electricity usage. He was very thorough and explained the entire process in detail. We needed to replace our old roof before the solar panels could be installed. SolarTech worked seamlessly with our roofer (Sequoia Roofing) telling them exactly where the panel supports needed to be placed. Mark was great throughout the entire process and never tried to hard sell us or pressure us into getting his system.

I have contacted many solar companies in San Diego. My number one criteria is company reliability and longevity. Solar will stay on my roof for 20+ years. I need to trust the solar company to be around for a long time. I talked to Tesla Energy, Sunrun, Solar Sullivan, Baker,... After spending more than a month of research, I finally picked SOLARTECH. Ryan the salesman patiently answered all of my questions, I got good rebate before it expires. Solartech uses SunPower panels which is known as the best in the market. Sunpower uses microinverter which is better than string inverter. The installation crew was very courteous. Hubert was patiently spending time to go over with me the detail of the installation, where the conduit goes, helped me to pick the right place for the monitor. They also install the bird guard since I have lot of birds in my area. The whole crew are very professional. They paint the conduit to match my roof and stucco colors. It’s amazing. They blended in quite well. The inspection went smoothly with all proper paperwork and safety labels in place. The monitor app is easy to use. I also got another 6 extra panels for my future electric car. Overall I strongly recommend Solartech. Call Ryan 858-663-4469. Tell him Joe T refers. By the way, they are also roof company. Anything wrong with your roof, they know how to fix it. They did checked my roof to make sure the paper is in good shape, the roof would last more than 10 years. If not, I would replace a new roof before install solar. Go Solar... with Solartech.

We recently finished our 3.35kW solar install with Solar Tech, and we are extremely pleased with the process and finished result. After dozens of quotes from local installers, I found Solar Tech offers the best value of any residential solar company. We were able to get a SunPower X21 Equinox AC system (with a 25yr warranty and one of the most efficient system options) at a price comparable to other mid-range systems. We also decided to upgrade our main service meter panel, which turned out great and gives us the capacity to add additional solar in the future if needed. Our energy consultant Drew was very professional and made sure that our install went smoothly every step of the way. This company values their customers regardless of how large or small the installation size is, and does a high quality job on the installation. I'd happily recommend Solar Tech for residential solar installations.

Our pool solar system that was installed in 2004 broke  several years ago and was not repairable, and the company who installed it was out of business.
We love a warm pool and decided to go ahead and install a new system.  We had three different solar companies come out and give proposals.  All different systems and prices.   We liked SolarTech the best because they offered a 12 year warranty on panels and labor for repairs.  Jason (the owner) is also very friendly and professional.
System was installed without problems, and Sean helped us set up the system with our variable speed pool pump.  All seems to be going well.

Everyone on this team was first rate, complete professionals, that were always willing to go the extra mile. I had originally sought a request for proposal from 5 companies that were rated "A" on Angie's list. I found Solar Tech's proposal to be one of the most detailed/comprehensive, explaining exactly what they would do, without any hidden "gotcha's" for later. A good example, JT Garrison quoted me a system that had one of the higher power rated (5KW) without be most expensive, and also included the cost of a service panel upgrade/replacement, should one be needed. 
All permits and subsequent inspections were done like clockwork and passed on the first attempt, no rework was required for any task on this project.
Prior to deciding to so solar, I had an issue with my service panel; a couple of my lights would flicker, especially at night. I had called an electrician for this issue, whom advised me that the service panel would need replacement at a cost estimate of around $2,000. Therefore, I had expected SolarTech would need to replace mine as part of my solar installation. Joe Flores, Solartech's electrician came out prepared for a new panel replacement, but instead discovered a couple of loose neutral wires, which he corrected. SDG&E, during their initial inspection, directed a new panel be installed 18 inches from the front of my house, in accordance with new code (my home was build in 1970). SolarTech installed a new 200 Amp panel for the solar install, keeping the existing one as a sub-panel.The installation looks wonderful, and did NOT incur any additional cost at all. 
The install of the 18 panels themselves were completed and on time, look awesome, and the contractors cleaned up the area  so well, that when they were done, you could not tell any work had ever been done!
I would also like to note that most of the work was accomplished while my wife and I were away on vacation. They worked around our schedule and plans with complete flexibility.
At the time we were ready to throw the switch and go live with our solar system, JT and Sarah provided me with a great understanding of what I should expect to see (and why) with the installed monitoring system/tools. After viewing the monitoring of the live system for the past 2 days, it is perfectly clear, they certainly were right, and the provided "envolve" monitoring system  let's me see, with adequate detail, that my new solar system is working as promised. We have had some of the hottest days of the year these past 2 days, which meant running our central air conditioning around the clock. I can't begin to tell you how wonderful it feels seeing how this new system produces nearly 90% of this peak usage. I can hardly wait until the weather starts to cool down next week, when we will not use the AC, and watch our meter "spin backwards" 
In summary, our experience with SolarTech exceeded ALL of my wife's and my expectations, and without hesitation, would recommend them to EVERYONE!

I received presentation and a detailed quote. They would have been an excellent choice. However we decided that, because we don't plan to keep our house more than 5 to 7 more years, the purchase of solar panels (cost versus overall savings) was not recommended.

Solartech installed new solar pool panels.  We had a few issues come up but Jason made everything right and we are happy with our warm pool.

Repaired my thermal solar collector connection to the hot water heater. The roofing company removed the collectors for the re-roof job. But they are not plumbers so they didn't connect the collectors properly. Jason came out the next day and fixed everything. He told me what I needed in addition, but didn't pressure to buy the additional parts and service. Next I, want Solartec to install a solar electric system.

Jason was responsive, very reasonable in price and professional.  He and his team quickly handled any issues that came up.  They installed 1,050 square feet of solar pool panels on several different roof sections, and got everything balanced and working correctly.  We live along the coast and in previous summers our pool was rarely warm enough to be comfortable for swimming, and it is regularly 85 degrees.  They do good work and I would recommend them for anybody looking to have solar pool heating installed.

We called Solar Tech and explained our problem. Sara was courteous and helpful. She scheduled  an appointment for Jason, the owner, to come and take a look. Thye charge a fee for the call but it is then applied to any work that is completed. Jason was prompt for the appointment and was professional. He explained that we needed to replace 3 solar panels and a control unit. This was not the best news, but Jason explained that part of the problems came from the original installation not being done properly. This was not surprising as we had nothing but problems with the original company and they did not stand behind their products and work at all. Jason asked if "company x" did our original installation.. we replied "how did you guess?"
Since we had not had a good experience at all previously, one of out biggest concerns was the warranty on the work that needed to be done. Jason covered that with us and we were satisfied with his answer. He assured us that he stands behind the products and the work and will be there to help should the need arise.
Parts had to be ordered for our repairs. They came in quickly and we were able to schedule the repair work within10 days of the original estimate.
Jason and another gentleman came on time for the appointment. The completed the repairs neatly and in timely manner. He needed to return the next day with the control unit and he did.
So the system is now working. This is great as we are coming into "pool season" Wec can also use out hot tub agian without a flood off of the roof.
If you want a solar heating system for your pool, do yourself a favor and call Solar Tech FIRST. It will save you time and money to get the job done correctly up front.

I called Solar Tech to get the solar energy system installed.  I don't think I was really ready to have it installed but I wanted to get some info.  Jason (the owner) was fine with coming over knowing that he probably wouldn't get the deal.  We talked for about an hour or so and he answered all of my questions.  He gave me a quote and decided that I would get it installed.  I got 3 other quotes from reputable companies, but they didn't feel as honest as Jason was.  I just felt like he was the most honest and most experienced. 
I called him back a couple weeks later and set up the install time.  It went as well as I expected.  They showed up on time and finished on time.  Every once in a while I checked in to make sure they weren't doing anything weird or sloppy and that they weren't cutting any corners.  It all came out very clean and professional.  They cleaned up after themselves too.  Even after the job was done he still answers my phone calls when I have questions. 
I did a lot of research before I picked the installation company.  Do yours if you want to, but trust me, this is the company to use.

They were wonderful. They were not pushy at all. The owner came out to give us the estimate and said this is what we can do for you. We best if you do this and why don't you think about it and just give me a call when you decide and we loved that. The bid was very good and very appropriate bid considering some of the others we have gotten. When they came to do the work they were done I think a little quicker than he said they probably would be and the workmen were perfectly pleasant and did their work. They were very professional, but very non pushy all along and we really appreciated that. They had to dig a trench for one of the pipes to go to our pool controls and they did that very carefully and covered it up nicely after that and quite frankly I can't tell where it is. They are prompt and responsive.

It was just a little overpriced. They were professional about it and everything was fine with them. We were just shopping around. They were excellent. They knew their stuff.

We recently installed solar panels and re-located our thermal pool panels.  After interviewing a few companies, we felt most comfortable with Jason and his company.  Jason was honest and had very reasonable pricing.  We felt good about hiring Solar Tech to do a quality job at a fair price.  Now that  everything has been installed and working, we are so happy that we went with Solar Tech.  The installers were clean and professional.  They stuck to the completion date that the sales rep had promised.  We had a complicated project with pool thermal panels that needed to be re-located on the roof to accommodate the new solar panels, and little room to work with to get the amount of solar we needed.  Jason and his team pulled it off with ease.  I've since recommended Solar Tech to my neighbors.  We are looking forward to our tax credit and the many years of savings on our energy bill!  I recommend Solar Tech to anybody considering solar electric panels or pool thermal panels, as they took care of both for us.  They did a great job at an extremely fair price.

I had wanted to get solar on my pool for quite some time, as I was tired of only swimming for a third of the year.  When I called the owner (Jason) he was very knowledgeable and informative.  He took the time to listen to my questions and responded with clear, understandable explanations of the services he would perform and how my system would benefit.  One thing I particularly liked was that he wasn't so concerned with selling me a large or unnecessary system but rather finding the best possible solution for my particular desired system.  He even encouraged me to collect other bids, which I did and sure enough his price was the best.  The installation occurred exactly nine days after I first called, and my pool was up to 79 degrees within three days following the installation.  Mind you this was in February; my pool is currently 85 degrees.  The entire process was painless and I am very happy I chose Solartech.  Jason is confident in his product and takes pride in his work and I would recommend Solartech to anyone.

My wife and I had been thinking about getting a solar heater for our pool for awhile.  Our pool is situated in a shaded area and it hasn't been warm enough to swim in for a long time.  Last year we only used the pool once in July, on a hot day, and it was still cold. We had contacted a couple of companies and didn't get a very good response.  One of the companies promised us a quote and we waited for over a week then they never returned the phone call or email.  So, we started over with our search.  I emailed a request for a quote from Solartech on a Monday morning and Jason got back to me within an hour, came to our house that evening when we got home from work.  He was very knowledgeable about what we needed.  The pool had been plumbed for solar many years ago and he pointed it out right away, gave us a very reasonable quote and was able to have it installed for us two days later!  The workers were great!  They were very polite and professional.  Within 3 days WE WERE SWIMMING IN OUR WARM POOL!!!  Jason was really great to do business with and we will recommend him and his company to anyone!
