Shawn recreated our 1920s home wood windows here in Mission Hills. He was recommended by Save Our Heritage Organisation (SOHO) who says that they only use Shawn for all their restoration work. If you want cheap, this isn't your man. But if you want incredible quality, Shawn THE man to use for all wood window work - period.

Shawn represents the kind of resource I joined Angie's list to find. He's a true craftsman. There are a million companies that will offer to rip out historic windows and replace them with vinyl retrofits, or whatever this decade's latest window fad is. The reality is old-world double hung windows stand the test of time. Many of ours have smoothly survived 60+ years. I'm guessing that won't be said of most vinyl windows sold today. Our painter said the windows were the nicest hand-crafted windows he's seen, and I have to agree. Shawn uses some original tooling, and old-world techniques to make windows that blend seamlessly to match original period windows. He also did an impressive job of installing the casements, carefully matching the wood species to our existing trim, and creating a beautiful install. If you care about the historic integrity of your house, or you just want some great hand-crafted windows, Shawn is a rare find. We're also having Shawn do a larger window project on a room remodel this summer as well. I'll report back after it's completed.
