Professional Roofing and Solar

This company replaced the roof on my house, the roof on my commercial building and they installed solar panels for my home. They have always given me the best price. They do excellent work, and they are very reliable. I even got comments from tenants about how nice these roofers were. The work product has always been excellent. We had a very challenging home re-roofing project that required a great deal of creativity. They did great.

They did a very good job. They showed pictures every afternoon. They showed me the before and after. They communicate better than other than companies.

Excellent. Didn't know much about any of this. They sent me pictures of the job progress daily. Explained what would happen before it happened, were meticulous and accurate about the cost, type of material and duration of the job. Each day they cleaned their work space, workmen were courteous (no blasting radios, etc) and efficient. I had a large roof replacement and they were in and out within a week. Customer support after the job was finished is also excellent. Office personnel are professional and courteous.

It was a pleasure to work with Jesus Martinez. He was thorough, courteous and professional. He inspired confidence immediately with his knowledge of his field. He also pointed out areas to keep an eye on for future maintenance.

Excellent! 15 years ago I had John replace the roof on my property. I did my diligence and got quotes etc. PRS&S won the job. Last year the new insurance company required me to get a new roof. I did my diligence this time by just calling John. My property is large with multiple tenants. The workers were great & made sure tenant concerns were addressed. They replaced 40% of the individual roof boards (no plywood), most all of the sofit boards, and all of the soffit vents. I can't list all they did but I now have a completely new roof with multiple vents. I'm very happy with the workmanship and the price.

Professional Roofing and Solar was the middle of three bids for roof replacement and new solar system installation. Living up to the company name, Chad and Marisa were very processional. Chad spent considerable time with me giving me solar tutorials, and helping me to feel comfortable with the roofing & solar package. Professional Roofing and Solar took care of all the details from pulling permits from the city to ensuring that SDG&E had all the paper work needed to commission the system.

All aspects went very well, from the initial consultation (provided clear explanations and useful advice) to roof replacement (crew was timely, careful, and competent) to follow-up on solar panel activation (all worked smoothly and, as needed, they walked us through the steps needed). Note that total price does not allow for tax advantages for the solar panel installation.

Everything was done on time and within budget. Everyone I worked with was pleasant, knowledgeable and punctual. It was a good experience overall.

The level of service was high, they were responsive to my questions and requests. The work crew didn't waste any time or effort, and other than one miscommunication, things went incredibly smoothly. The daily status updates were appreciated, and unlike so many other contractors I always knew where things were in the process and the estimated time to completion. I am happy with the work performed and have no reservations in recommending them again.

Great! On time, easy to work with, quick. They weren't the cheapest bid but it was close; 3 higher and 1 lower. I like that they have an office in El Cajon near the property. Very professional from beginning to end. Final amount was higher due to unforeseen wood replacement, but that always happens - you don't know what's needed until the shingles are off. I like their extra long warranty as well as the fact that they prime and paint to match any exposed wood that they replace.

Professional Roofing did an excellent job on our roof. They showed up on time and were very professional. They worked through 100+ degree weather during the hottest week of the year. Our roof looks great. They were reasonably priced and high quality. I would recommend them to friends and family.

I strongly recommend Professional Roofing and Solar. I interviewed and got bids from three companies. No one was anywhere near as thorough in explaining every element of the job to me as was John, the owner of PRS. He is an extremely methodical, systematic, patient, thorough, knowledgeable, and competent professional. I was impressed and reassured by the detail with which he explained everything to me. His crew are all people who have been with him for years, and he does not use sub-contractors. Each step of the job (which took about 8 days) was done smoothly. The crews were all punctual, extremely hard working, very thoughtful and careful, and good at cleaning up at the end of each day. Not only I, but my neighbors as well, could tell that the job was being done with very high quality. At the very end, we needed to re-stucco and re-paint some parts of the upper house and John immediately understood and agreed that it was his responsibility to get that finishing work done to my satisfaction. And so it was. I couldn't be more satisfied with PRS and my new roof. I recommend this company very, very, very highly. I will add that they were the highest of the three bids, by quite a bit. But you get what you pay for. The attention to detail, the highly experienced in-house crew, and an additional insurance that only PRS carries which will cover not only repairing leaks but any damage to property inside your house.... You know a company is that good when they provide a policy like this to their customers -- because it means they know the quality of their work and that their customers will not need to deploy the policy!

Charge of $295, to inspect for damages and prepare estimate for repairs. This charge was offset (credited) against the total repair bill. Prompt response to request for inspection and estimate. Dealt with Mariano, who did the inspection and the final repairs. Easy to work with and did quality work. Total process, from initial contact to final completion, was approximately one month. I had used Professional Roofing Services ("PRS") about 10 years ago for the repair of a mobile home roof, for a dear senior friend, who lived in El Cajon. Because I knew they did quality work, I was not offended by the inspection/estimate fee. I recommend PRS.

This is a follow up to a review posted in July 2011. I had roofing services completed in June 2011 and at the time was a satisfied customer and provided a good review on Angie's List. However, due to the recent rain storms (Jan 2017) water was coming into my house on the north side of the wall near the chimney. I had a flood and restoration company come out on the Friday evening of the storm and they put a tarp on the roof to prevent further leakage into the house. On Monday, I contacted Professional roofing and they came out the next day to inspect the roof. I was informed by the inspector that the tarp was installed with staples that voided out the roof warranty. I can understand and accept that fact. However, the fact remains, the roof was leaking BEFORE the tarp was installed. John, the owner of Professional Roofing, informed me via email, that his inspector said the roof does not appear to be leaking, warranty was null and void due to the staples, and if I wanted them to return for an estimate on the roof there would be a $250.00 fee. I am dismayed and angry about his lack of professional courtesy to a previous customer who paid $8000.00 in good faith and provided a good review. I now rescind my previous review and I would never recommend this company and they do NOT deserve a A rating with Angie's List.

They were not the cheapest quote but the only one that had their own roofers and had no problem with the conduit fix. In my experience you get what you pay for. They covered everything that needed to be covered but dust still got everywhere. They did clean up every day before they left. Otherwise the roof looks great, conduit works great. Communication was great. I have nothing bad to say about them.

I couldn't be more pleased. John, being the professional that he is, explained everything in detail at our initial meeting. I chose his company after getting three other estimates, just had this gut feeling of trust about him. His employees, Mariano and Juandiego were such hard workers. 65 ft of wood (facia I think) were replaced due to termite damage and wood rot. The paint color was matched to the existing trim, Mariano even touched up a couple of areas for me that he didn't replace. Nice gesture which I very appreciated. With all the rain we have had, having a new roof installed sooner than later gave me such piece of mind. So in conclusion, I most definitely recommend Professional Roofing Services. They were professional, hard working, and fair in their pricing.
