Called and talked to a technician. Tried to explain what I needed and was told they do not do circuit board component replacement. Explained that the G board was no longer available and the onlyway to fix the tv was to replace diods on the circuit board. I was told they don't do that only fix tv. Not sure how he can fix TV if he can't do circiut board repairs. Wouldn't bother. Find someone else. I'm still looking for a get TV repair person.

I did not have this company come out to perform repairs. I talked to the person on the phone. He said it would cost $50 just to come out an check out what the problem might be. I gave him the symptoms I was having with the TV not turning on. I asked what he thought it could be and what the cost range might be. He said he couldn't tell me anything without coming out and charging me $50. I had already been searching the internet regarding this problem and so I had a reasonable idea of what might be the problem. His refusal to even discuss potential problems and costs associated with the symptoms we were having caused me to move on to another option. The next experience I had with another company went very well. I would not recommend New Tech TV Repair.

I spoke with man who answered the phone and told him what I needed done to my Sony TV. I had already spoken with Sony and knew I needed to replace the Beznet. I asked the man if he knew how to do that. He said he would need to come out and look at my TV at a cost of $50 before he could give me an answer. When I told him I knew what needed to be replaced he said, "I don't work like that." The Beznet is the cabinet the TV is in. The cabinet had been damaged, not the inner workings of the TV. It seems he should know whether he knows how to replace a Beznet without charging me $50 to look at it. It will look like any other Sony Wega 36" FD Trinitron Beznet.

I think this is a one man operation. I left a message with my problem and I got a call back within 30 minutes. That surprised me as this was on a Friday evening after work. He asked the nature of the problem, scheduled to come and look at the set on Saturday (that surprised me, too). When he arrived he took a look, found the problem and surprised me again by having the parts needed with him. He pulled the computer board out, whipped out his soldering iron and had me up and running in about an hour.

He called two days later saying the TV had been on since I left and was working fine. He verified what the problem had been, and said that he could not find a problem. When I came in to take the TV home, he went through all the possible problems with me, and checked out the lamp, which showed some wear. I had changed the lamp myself before, so he just walked through the process again with me to make sure I could do it right. When I got the TV home, it worked fine. The problem must have been a loose connection that moved back into place with transporting the TV.

I Feel very disappointed as there are such good reports of this outfit on Angie's List. I would always rather employ a small business than a large co like Circuit City or Good Guys. Also, they did not return a message I phoned in the previous day although they acknowledged they received it.

The overall experience was very good. He answered his cell phone Friday evening and came out on Saturday at noon. He spent time teaching me about Flat screen TV and HD. I felt he went beyond what I expected, so I will certainly call him again.

A terrific TV, now as good as new. Service was professional, courteous and prompt. He is a talented technician. Turn around time about 4 working days. TVs of this size and smaller must be taken to the shop. Will do house calls on larger sets.

AS I HAVE STATED THE SERVICE CALL WAS ON TIME, VERY POLITE AND PERSONABLE. I FELT THE PRICE WAS REASONABLE. A DEPOSIT IS ASKED FOR AND THEN IS ROLLED INTO THE PRICE OF THE REPAIR, WHICH SEEMS FAIR TO ME.
