They did it fast and they worked around. My schedule. They did quality work and even saved me some repair cost when they could have ripped me off and I would have never known.

When well. Made me an appointment within 48 hours. Did all work done within one day. Very professional. I went in with a list of problem and I have no clue about cars. The could have ripped me off big time. The explained what the problem so even I could understand. The fixed a couple problems no charge and explained a couple I could do myself and what the did do, it seemed like a good price.

My mechanic referred me to this shop because he couldn't do the smog certification I needed right away. A Smog Check is fairly simple,so its not so much what they did but how they did it. These people are friendly and honest and their rates affordable. The line that morning was out the door with what seemed to be repeat customers, content to chat while waiting their turn. If you like 50's nostalgia you will love their waiting room with its surprisingly comfortable chairs, good coffee, amusing cartoons on the wall, and vending machines that must predate the Korean War. The owners and mechanics seemed to genuinely like their customers and work hard to make them happy. If I didn't already have a wonderful mechanic I would switch, and I wouldn't hesitate to refer a friend to La Mesa Tire and Auto.

Initial Phone contact - spoke with Matt (owner). He was very helpful, explained the options and the process involved. Made appointment for next morning. Day of appointment/Smog Test - Warm greeting from Matt, handled paperwork efficiently. They got my car in quickly and completed testing, getting me on my way with quicker than I would have thought possible. Overheard various customer's conversations with Matt and other employees while waiting - very professional, they know their business and automobiles. This is a smog test station that actually deals with the and quot;Check Engineand quot; warning light issues before beginning the smog check, saving the customer unnecessary wasted time and money. The price was right, the service was great - I would recommend them to anyone in need of a smog check and for other repairs to their vehicle.

I and my kids have several older model cars, all that need a little TLC. It is important for us that they are reliable and safe but we do not want to spend too much (i.e. more than the cars themselves are worth). My first appointment was to simply fix a flat on a F250. It was quick, easy and reasonable. My next visit was to do a general check up on an old Mitsubishi and to put on new tires. Matt found tires that were inexpensive but rated well and did a thorough check of the car. He found an issue but instead of simply ordering a replacement part, he found something in a local junkyard that worked just as well for 1/2 the price. Later I had to take that car back for broken windshield washers---charge was zero! Then we were having issues with my wife's car antenna; he diagnosed the problem and fixed it for exactly the cost he quoted, also reasonable. These guys are honest, reliable and extremely knowledgeable!!!
Without hesitation, I would recommend their shop to anyone. If they cannot fix it, they will send you to someone else they know and trust.

Carlos was extremely helpful in bringing the car in and the work was done quickly and thoroughly. Matt was helpful when he called to tell me the car was ready and both answered all questions cheerfully. Trustworthy car guys!

THE MANAGER, "MATT", CAME UP TO ME AND APOLOGIZED ON THE OWNER'S BEHALF. HE SAID HE WOULD TAKE CARE OF US AND HE STATED THAT HE SHOULD NOT HAVE TOLD US TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE IN BUT TO HAVE IT TOWED. HE CONTACTED DIFFERENT PLACES TO FIND A GOOD ENGINE FOR OUR TRUCK, AND ONLY CHARGED US FOR THE PARTS, AND NOT THE LABOR. THEY ALSO WENT THE EXTRA MILE, AND REPLACED OTHER THINGS THEY NOTICED THAT WERE WORN OUT AT THE SAME TIME WITHOUT CHARGING US FOR LABOR.

TRUCK WAS FIXED, WE DO NOT HAVE PROBLEM ANYMORE. VERY NICE PEOPLE THERE WHO CALL AND TELL YOU WHAT THE PROBLEM IS BEFORE THEY START WORKING ON IT. ASKED TO KEEP TRUCK AN EXTRA DAY TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY HAD FIXED THE PROBLEM. NOT THE CHEAPEST PLACE, BUT DOES A GOOD AND HONEST JOB.

THIS REPAIR CENTER IS VERY COURTEOUS. THEY WORK DILIGENTLY AND COMPLETE YOUR REPAIR QUICKLY. I FIND THE PRICES COMPARABLE TO DISCOUNTED TIRE PLACES. THE PEOPLE LEAVE YOUR CAR CLEAN AND THE FRONT OFFICE IS VERY PERSONABLE.
