My best friend took his cat in here to be euthanized today. His wife had called ahead for prices and an understanding of the procedure but did not go with him to the clinic. When he got to the clinic he was told different information and had to call his wife to confirm what they wanted to do since it didn't match. (Aka the price went up AND the body was coming home with us if we didn't pay for even more services.. Which is fine, we just weren't told initially!)The receptionist at this point decided to help the next customer rather than finish helping my friend and his wife understand what was happening.
Mind you, this is about a euthanasia!
I called them on the phone explaining that my friend was in their lobby and was getting passed over for another customer while he was trying really hard to understand his cats situation. The woman on the line instantly got defensive (i think her name was Shannon). And the first words out of her mouth were "i don't have any idea what you're talking about" in a condescending tone. I explained again that i was calling because i was trying to help my friend who was there for a euthanasia and this is the situation..She said something snarky back to me and by that time i was livid. I finally stopped explaining and said all I'm asking is that my friend is treated respectfully while he was there because he was having a rough time. The woman's response was "you don't know me" because she "is the most empathetic person" i'd ever meet l, and "didn't know what my problem was".She then proceeds to pull the phone away from her ear and start talking to another girl next to her about me saying "i don't know what her problem is shes just yelling and screaming at me...etc etc" without even hiding the fact that she was talking crap in full ear shot of me. I hung up and called back, the same girl answered but didn't say her name this time, heard my voice and instantly hung up.I called AGAIN, this time a different person answered the phone saying only "heeello??" With no business greeting or name, so i said "id like to speak with a supervisor please" she chuckled and said "yea, you're not going to be speaking to a supervisor anytime soon" i said I would wait on hold for a supervisor, and was cheerfully told "Sure!" You can bet I did NOT get to speak to a supervisor.
I left it alone then, after FOUR failed attempts to get some answers because my friend was still there and they were all making such a joke out of me i knew he could hear them (and he did.)
I found out that they did in fact harass him a bit more after i called, as i'd worried. They cornered him as he was saying goodbye to his cat, tears rolling down his cheeks and started asking him questions like if they were making him feel disrespected or not.
I am shocked. Honestly sick to my stomach. My heart is broken over the loss of an awesome cat, and shattered with how it all ended. He walked out of there with no cat, no ashes, no paw print, no solace. We are worried there is so little integrity with this place that our minds can not help but worry that our beloved little dude is just sitting in a trash can out of spite and no accountability. I hate that my friends are having those thoughts.
To be treated this way on a normal day would have blown me away, but these women all knowing full well what kind of day we were dealing with? To not be given an ounce of respect at any point? It makes me glad my involvement happened over the phone and not in person.Shame on you guys. Absolutely sickening experience. Never again will any of us make the mistake of taking our animals there. No chance Ill be taking my dog back ever again. We miss retired Dr. Paulson even more, he was the best vet ever."
Another visit, I asked the receptionist to have the Vet call my dog's prescription into Walmart and I provided the number. I later drove to Walmart and they never called it in, the next day I called and asked why it wasn't called in and they told me they had the med cheaper. I was upset because it was easier for me to go to Walmart than to drive to the Vet. They could have at least informed they weren't going to call it in. There were several others issues with this Vet, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
