Downey Plumbing Heating & AC

The technician came and put a metal line in the pipe and it got stuck. The technician came back a week later and cut the metal line. When we requested the technician to put a camera in the pipe to locate the exact spot the pipe is broken, the technician said that the camera is too large and would get stuck in the pipe just like the metal line so the technician estimated the spot where the pipe is broken. We hired another company to obtain a second opinion and the new company was able to insert a camera in the pipe and locate the exact location where the pipe is broken. It was 10 feet away from the spot where Downey's technician had estimated. If we let Downey perform the job, we would have had to open up a way larger hole on the floor to replace the broken pipe. Don't waste your time with Downey for plumbing and pipe issues.

It was pretty good but I had a problem with the water heater door. They broke it when they took it off, they did not take it back correctly. But the plumbing was excellent.

Tech was on time, thorough and professional. Would definitely hire again.

Showed up at different location than I requested. Had to pay for service they did not provide. I was told the location of my home in 90048 was not within their territory. I was extremely disappointed. I should not have been charged.

He ended up breaking the entire heating and AC unit, told me he would email me quotes for replacement, never emailed me, then dodged my calls. I had 3 other companies come out to analyze what had happened, and they all said someone removed a piece of the machine. Tyler was to only person up there. Very upset.

Tyler came out and spent quite a bit of time diagnosing the issue. It was a Carrier model furnace (2-stage), and the stage one heat wouldn't stay on. Eventually, it would go to stage two. After checking all the various issues: vent cap, gas valves, sensors, etc. he checked out the thermostat, which was the culprit. He recommended a "smart" Honeywell Lyric thermostat that I can control from my cellphone. He brought it and installed it two days later, insuring that the new thermostat was working with the furnace and with my house WIFI network. Overall $440 is a little pricey for a new thermostat, but he did check out all the components of the furnace. Tyler was knowledgeable and took the time to explain what he was doing at each stage. I would definitely hire him again for any furnace work.

Plumbers from Downey have been at my house at least 6 times over the last 2 years and all of them have been very polite, knowledgeable, neat, efficient and give you advance estimates of cost. If they snake your sewer line to the main (about 70 feet) you have a 90 day guarantee so if you pay once, the next is no charge. I have been able to take advantage of this twice and it certainly saves on the pocket book. A friend of mine has used Downey and will call no other plumbing service. Me too!

I''ve used them before on other things and I'm satisfied with the work that they've done. I don't think there was anything that they could have done to make that experience better.

The price was a little high, but he was very confident that he could fix the issue. He dug up the pipe in the front yard and completed the project that day. I felt that he did excellent work.

Tyler asked to see the unit after I explained the problem. He looked around the back and gave it a bit of a tap. The unit stopped! I was stunned and asked him to explain. He did in terms I could understand and said the malfunctioning part would have to be replaced. He completed the job in 15 minutes. He was friendly, very well trained, and professional. I will use this firm again!
