It was excellent. They have quick turn around time. They came to my house same day that I have called them.

It has been a few years since we had it installed. We have also had them doing our tune ups since 2004. If you do not know how to say no to a salesman (their repairman), and your critical thinking skills and common sense are not too sharp, do not get involved with these guys. On a tune up last year, they tried to sell me a new blower (fan thing) on a brand new unit. I had to ask the guy to leave because he would not stop talking about a new blower. Nothing is wrong with the new unit blower, other than it needed to be cleaned because it had some grease on it (for some reason), causing it to make noise when running the air conditioner. He no longer works there, but the next guy still felt it needed the cleaning. It no longer make noise after he cleaned it. He is not the only repairman in a long line of many since 2004 that has tried and sometimes succeeded in selling us parts and services not needed, hence the C rating in price. All this experience tells me they train them as salesman with a kickback of some kind and I recently got one that went too far. They prey upon the uncertainty that you do not know what they are talking about, and you have to trust them, but in a nice professional way. When services are performed, they are done correctly (it works), and I have not needed them to come back to redo anything. They are very responsive, clean and professional when performing services also. Since I am experienced with their ways and they are not sloppy and are very responsive, we stay with them.

They've been out once since we bought our home. The tech was thorough and explained best processes for servicing our cleanable filters and put an "easy out" pull tab on one filter that was hard to access. They contacted us with plenty of notice to schedule the spring visit.

The cost of service was way too much! Even though I said it was too much, that was from a different perspective. I think they're competitively priced, so I rather preferred it was all free you know, that's not reasonable!

Everyone I dealt with, from first inquiry, to bid and planning, through execution, was helpful, pleasant, positive, and human. Two fine young craftspersons (may I call them that?) came out, worked 6 hours or so straight with no breaks, and explained what they had done. One tech told me she loves Greiner, which speaks volumes. (That young woman had also been specifically named as an expert installer by the HVAC ductwork expert who recommended Greiner.) I crawled under the house to verify and admire, I was amazed: I contracted for reworking two ducts lines with three vents, but seemingly out of simple good will, they rebuilt the other two shorter ducts too. What a gift. Results: No more ice box effect in the back rooms. The house is more evenly warm and the heater runs less. I highly recommend Greiner's for ductwork.

They're an excellent company. They come out once a year to do the maintenance on the systems and let me know if there's any problem. They also give a discount if you're a part of the maintenance system. I like everything about them. They have a really knowledgeable estimator. Their technicians go to a formal training program. They're well-organized. They're friendly and they're reasonable. They're not the least expensive but neither are they outrageous. They are somewhere in the middle which is typically where most of the good companies are. They know what they are doing. My interactions with them are always positive. There are no problems at all.

My water heater was leaking and had to shut the water off to house called Greiner and he was here within 30 min to try and at least get me water to my house since it was already almost 5:00. He was here for about 2 hours drained the water heater and cut the hose and capped it off, cleaned all the water up from the leak unfortunately for some reason when we turned the water back on still had no water in the house but it was not from his lack of trying. In the end he didn't even charge me he felt so bad and he has even called me today (need to call him back) to see if I found a plumber and what I found out. Nothing is ever normal in my house so I don't blame him. Thank-you Dennis

I have been with them since I moved here. I am on their maintenance plan. They come out every 6 months, and if I forget to make an appointment they will call to remind me. They are very considerate, and upbeat, they are just a joy to work with. They clean up after themselves.

We used to use another local heating/AC service, but when the boiler on our old radiant heater went out, Greiner was the only company willing to figure out how it could be repaired/replaced and did so (Spring 2014). All the other heating companies that we called just said "We don't work on old radiant heaters". Greiner worked as a team to call people they knew who worked with commercial boilers, and figured out how to get the job done in our residential setting. It was a pleasure to see these problem-solvers working as a team. I would definitely recommend Greiner to work on your heating/AC issues!

Five years ago I had Greiner install a new water heater, and then shortly after that a new Heating and AC system.  All of my previous units were 21 years old already.
I then signed up for the Silver Club membership which entitles a customer to two annual tune-ups.  Getting tune-ups protects the warranty.  With this membership if a repair is needed, it is done at a discount.  Grenier has always been prompt with scheduling and the techs are punctual and professional.  I would highly recommend them.

Response from Greiner Heating & Air Conditioning

"Thank you for sharing your experience, although the outcome is not what we all would expect. Many times when a system is nearing the end of its useful life, we suggest replacement. This can be due to age, age and condition or that replacing with more efficient equipment is a viable option. I apologize for making you feel bad about your experience and after 20+ years serving Solano and Yolo counties, our reputation is important to us!"

I called Greiner after having called the original installer of my AC, and the top listed provider on Angie's List.  The original provider couldn't schedule me for over a month, and the Provider at the top of Angie's List, while friendly and sympathetic, had no room on their schedule for over a week.  As the Temperature was in the triple digits, I needed someone right away, and called Greiner who promised to come out between 3:00 and 5:00 the same day.  The serviceman arrived at 3:00 and I received a call ahead telling me he was on his way.  It had been explained to me that the diagnosis was a $79.00 fee which I accepted as fair.  The technician took one look and told me what was wrong - I had a bad capacitor.  He set about to fix it  as well as adding a power booster to ease the strain on the capacitor and had the job done in under 30 minutes.  He offered me a service plan which will afford me two preventative maintenance calls a year for $12.95 a month. In signing up I also received a 20% discount on the diagnostic and repair charges already incurred.  I found the technician to be professional, knowledgeable, and courteous.  I look forward to dealing with them in the future.

A bit of background 1st, before I retired last year I was a project manager and frequently the team leader for complex remote communication site installations.  My standards are fairly high, and believe in quality workmanship and taking care of the customer.  Hind sight is 20 ? 20 and we are pleased we went with Greiner.  If you?re not interested in the details below, we will highly recommend Greiner to family and friends if they need similar work done.
Greiner completed the Advanced Energy Audit Test Out of the new HVAC system with new ducting and installation in the attic they installed a couple of weeks ago.  A dramatic improvement over our 27 year old system that was fully functional, but getting tired.   Our home is a 27 year old two story ?tract home? and we have always had poor cooling and heating in the bedrooms on the 2nd floor along with fairly high energy bills.
We had Greiner do an energy audit of our house ($195) before providing us recommendations and a quote.  Although we knew our HVAC system was performing poorly, we had no idea how bad it was until they performed the pressure test of our system.  They were unable to pressurize it which indicated a greater than 40% leakage in our ducting system.  During the inspection they said it was likely the original plenum below the furnace & exchange unit in the garage was our culprit.
After Greiner provided us the results of the energy audit and their quote I did some research and obtained other quotes for comparisons.  The comparisons were not 100% perfect because of different brand names and such, but really ? really close.  The reason(s) we chose Greiner were; they participate in the Advance Energy Program which meant potentially higher rebates from PG&E over Standard Rebates, their price included the test out including the CAS ? CAZ test that others charge for, their additional year of no cost labor warranty, and they are a medium size company that has been around for awhile and is not too far away.  Their cost was a tad higher than other reputable firms for a ?turnkey? job, and higher than ?We?ll replace the units? quotes.
The installation took three days to complete and I would have been proud to have their crew working for me when I was managing work crews.  Once the old units were removed it was clear that the plenum was poorly designed and not sealed when the house was built.  Their team also went further and found additional problems that to me were not clearly called for in the contract.  I was impressed that they looked for, found, and repaired difficult to find additional problems without ?checking? to see if they should take care of them.  Before contracting with Greiner I asked them ?What are potential or possible oops that may be discovered during installation work that is not covered in the contract??  Their response was ?Anything we touch is covered? and they sure followed thru.
The test out today confirms that our leakage is now less than 6% and last Thursday when we 1st used the AC system it worked great and we may now have to actually reduce the air flow a bit for the upstairs bedrooms.  We also know what our rebate should be under the Advance Energy Upgrade.  It is quite a bit higher than the Standard Rebate which more than covers Greiner?s just a tad higher cost.
Is Greiner perfect or walks on water?  Nope, but it has been a long time since I?ve seen folks try so hard to exceed what the customer needs and wants.
