"[removed member name], I do not believe you are reviewing the correct company. I am the estimator for Sol Cal Window Tinting and we have no record of doing any work for you. I am sorry you were not taken care of properly and hope that you can get in touch with the company that did the work so that they can rectify the problem. Thank you. Mary Bruns"
I called Sol Cal Window Tinting looking for another option. The receptionist who answered the phone and set up the appointment was very professional and nice to work with. We had to reschedule the appointment twice due to time conflicts, and she was very nice each time. The owner of the company, Mary Burns, came out to the house to do the measurements and provide an estimate. She is professional, experienced (has been in the business many years), and provided suggestions as to which tint to use in the rooms, and did not to try to oversell us any product. She said we didn't need tinting on the northern windows and saved us some money. She carries two styles of tinting: a silver blue and a gray, and each has different levels of darkness that provides different levels of heat reduction. We chose silver blue because it reduced glare and provided a and quot;sharperand quot; image through the window, if that makes sense. It has a slight silver tint from the outside, but not as bright as tint from the old days. It looks very nice and we don't really notice it. She also carries a variety of privacy tints. We chose a rice paper design for two upstairs bathrooms and to put around the shower enclosure.
The tinting definately blocks the heat, and we can notice the difference right away. However, its effectiveness is related to the amount of glass in each room. The rooms with larger windows have the best heat reduction, the rooms with the smaller windows do not have as much of an effect (obviously). The rooms with the heavier tint color are a bit darker than normal, but that was one thing we wanted to accomplish. No tint will reduce glare completely (we still ned to close the blinds to watch tv in the afternoon), but this tint keeps me from squinting when I walk into a room.
We are very happy with the tinting. Mary was great to work with, her staff is very professional, and I trusted her opinion in selecting an appropriate level of tinting. I liked working with Mary so much that I didn't get quotes from other companies. I get tired of the hard sale. I got a good vibe and decided to go with Mary. We are glad that we did, and very happy with the end result.
