Since 1993 Mr. Augustine has been performing inspections on behalf of his clients. During that period he has done over 5000 inspections. Served 6 years on the ASHI-GLC BoD, was past Public Relations Chairman, served on many Peer Review Committees, and passed the ASHI-GLC Master Inspector by Review process. Russ is a Past President of the Desert Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Augustine is well respected among his Peers and within his Community.

Services we offer
A Certified Inspector with the Americian Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) Mr. Augustine provides Old Fashioned, Nuts and Bolts Inspections. He only does one inspection a day so he is not Hurried or rushed to get to another inspection. His Inspections typically last 3-4 hours, and he encourages his clients to attend so he can show them what things are, and how to take care of things. He is a very thorough Man., how things work

Russ recently did an inspection on a house my friend and I are hoping to buy in Palm Springs and he was terrific. He was very detailed and very thorough. He is pleasant and easy to be around and you could definitely tell he knows his stuff. While going through the house with him, he examined everything and could not have been more knowledgable or descriptive as we went, which was beyond helpful. It was an educational experience. Feel very comfortable making decisions after his assessments.

Russ came out on a Sunday to inspect a house we have under contract. He was very responsive and easy to communicate with on the phone. He was pleased I had found him on Angie's List because he likes people that do their homework. He said we were his kind of customer.
The house we were inspecting had been abandoned and unoccupied for a while so this inspection was crucial to determine if there were any serious issue. We were looking for "Tigers and Elephants" as Russ put it. "Squirrels and Rabbits, we can live with those, it's the Elephants we need to worry about."
Anyway, Russ encouraged me to "ride along" during the inspection and he showed me all the details as he found them while also taking comprehensive notes. In the end we found no elephants, just a few minor rabbits and I am confident nothing got by us.
I'm pretty sure if I had hidden a needle in this haystack, Russ would have found it. If you need a thorough inspection Russ is your guy.

inspected damaged roof to determine cause and source of roof leak and ceiling damage. Spent a good deal of time on inspection and outlining the process during the inspection and how he came to his conclusions. Wrote a detailed report of cause, source of roof damage, explaining why the previous "repairs" were substandard, inspected the damage to ceiling and interior walls and made recommendations for proper repair to pass on to contractor.
Russ was a professional throughout the inspection and the process, was very helpful and informative. Thank you.

he found some items we never would have been able to do--like the insulation in the attic being pushed to the sides when furnace installed, a crack in a glass that we didn't notice. well worth it, even though our builder is very good and probably would have fixed these things, we couldn't even check the attic ourselves due to the high ceilings and builder might not have known to fix it. He wrote a lengthy report we haven't even been able to read completely yet, it has so much info.

Russ was pleasant, knowledgeable and thorough. He doesn't take photos as he works and writes out the review by hand as he goes. But in some ways this is better because a) it forces him to really look at an issue carefully (instead of 'hitting a checklist') and b) it forces you the purchaser into a more interactive experience. with him as the process becomes a dialogue instead of an inspection farmed out to a third party. I would say he is particularly good for a knowledgable purchaser and perhaps less so for a first timer or less knowledgeable one.
Russ obviously knows his stuff and is fun to work with. He is cooperative and fairly priced.

Russ did a phenomenal job inspecting the property. He was extremely thorough and very professional. He took his time and explained everything in detail. The inspection took approximately 4 hours. He answered all of my questions and then some. He was prompt and provided me the written inspection that very day. He has all of the latest equipment to perform all aspects of the inspection. He invited me to call him if I had any further questions or concerns. Which I did. He gave me a solid assessment of property. I will recommend Russ to my friends.

I am purchasing a house in Palm Springs, CA. The only inspector I could find on Angie's List was Russ. The house is a short sell, so I contacted him upon acceptance by the owner of my offer. I received acceptance of my offer while on a cruise, so I asked him to contact my real estate agent. Russ contacted me an agreed to move forward with a verbal from me. I did not have access to a scanner or fax machine to sign the authorization. He did the inspection promptly and professionally.
I would highly recommend Russ Augustine.

It is a 50 year old home so I wanted to see what condition it was in. He went over the home with a fine tooth comb and gave me a whole 'book' of what needed to be done and prioritized the list for me. He went over the whole house, was up in the attic, up on the roof, under the cabinets.. everything. It is a small house and he was there for 5 hours, he was very thorough.
