"I was on the market for a security system and this one seemed easy enough to install.......went through the process and some of the window sensors were not working. I called Customer Support who was very friendly and we went through the entire process again...this time other window sensors did not work. This went on for a week or so...then the door senors stopped working....than the motion sensor stopped working...at no time in over a month did I have a fully operational security system. As I was about to return the system I was told they have "new" sensors and they just realized they received a bad batch and are working with another company.....Gave it a try....and same issue returned....some sensors worked....some didn't. I finally returned the system and stopped getting emails.....only to find that they were still billing my credit card even after I returned the equipment. Very nice people and very understanding.....unfortunately their product is not up to par. While we do have a large home, it's an open concept and the sensors that weren't working were no more than 15ft away from the base. The previous owners of my house had a wireless system with no issues at all.....I'm going to be using that company going forward."

"The crew was very professional, did their job expeditiously, and took care to install properly. They even had spray paint to corner nails and marks. Both Jeff and Ed did a great job, I especially appreciated, the company hired Veterans."

1984 years of experience

US Tint/Shadow Enterprises is a family owned company that has been providing the San Joaquin Valley with the best Residential, Commercial, and Automotive window film service since 1984. Mike and Margaret Funk of US Tint combined their 40 years of window film experience to create a company that holds customer satisfaction and professional service to its core. U.S Tint/Shadow Enterprises is a full service window film company. We have been in business since 1984. Residential, Commercial, Auto, Graffiti, Deco and Security. LICENSE #749286.

"If I could give a lower rating than 1 star I would, but as this is the lowest rating I can give I will give it. To explain why I give this rating, if I would have known that it would take 4 months+ to get my windows in my house tinted, along with them having to make repeated trips out to my house, because of incorrect cut measurements and just neglect of the office staff and management behind the projects regarding the proposal and order. I would have thought twice about going through US Tint. We have a long email thread that started the request at the time of signing for the proposal on July 11th, after multiple trips by the technicians coming out to install the film, the job still hasn’t been completed because of incorrect cut material, lack of materials, lack of proper needed equipment to install the material, the need for a secondary person for safety reasons (due to the second story), etc. I have also directly called Barbara (Director of Operations) after we received an email from her about this issue, and I only got her voicemail. After leaving a message on Nov 13th for her, asking for a return call to me about this matter. We still have not gotten a call back or a follow up email about the project and getting this job completed. Regardless though this is p*** poor customer service, and obviously residential homes do not seem to matter to the company or the management of these projects. I am glad I didn’t further invest my time into a new proposal for the bottom story of our house or our cars. You have lost my trust as a customer and I highly recommend anyone to think twice before using them for any project."

Hurricane Film questions, answered by experts

Hail damage is bad for a roof because it can leave the roof vulnerable to the elements. Hail may leave more than dents or scratches behind. It can actually cause the shingles to crack, which means water can leak into your home from the roof. Hail can also wear down the granules on the shingles. Without these granules, the shingles are weaker and more vulnerable to the elements, particularly wind. If the hailstorm is accompanied by high winds, it may take your shingles with it.

Adding extra supports, like additional columns and braces can help your carport resist high winds. You can also use wind-resistant materials. For instance, metal tends to have better wind resistance than vinyl and wood. An aerodynamic carport design is another way to improve its wind resistance.

If a brick house has been properly maintained and has no existing foundation damage, then yes, it can withstand a hurricane. If a house has brick veneer siding, it can withstand winds of up to 150 miles per hour. Brick houses with solid brick walls can potentially withstand hurricane-force winds of up to 185 miles per hour.

In general, hailstones need to be at least one inch in diameter to cause damage to a roof. Smaller hailstones can also cause damage, but usually only if accompanied by strong winds or striking aging roofs in poor condition. Obviously, the larger the hail, the more potential for damage.

Pea-sized hail can damage a roof if it experiences hailstorms often, as it slowly causes cracks and deterioration to your shingles. Usually, one hailstorm with pea-sized hail won’t damage your roof, but if you see other damage to your car, grill, and other property, it may be worthwhile to get in touch with your insurance company and have a local roofer come out for an inspection.
