I would give Northern Lights Electric more stars if I could! Working with Rich and his team was an absolute breeze from start to finish. When we moved in the summer of 2024, our home inspection flagged an outdated electrical panel—both the main and subpanel—as something that needed attention. I wanted to get both replaced, along with a few other electrical updates, and started reaching out to contractors. I contacted three companies, and Rich at Northern Lights was the only one who took the time to provide multiple options for our panel upgrades. His expertise and thorough explanations gave me confidence in the process. His team was incredibly professional—always on time, communicative, and respectful of our home. They kept us informed every step of the way, and whenever I had a question or concern, Rich responded almost immediately. What stood out the most was their attention to detail in every aspect—cleanliness, cost-effectiveness, communication, professionalism, and knowledge. Because of our outstanding experience, we fully intend to work with Northern Lights Electric for all future electrical projects. If you're looking for a reliable and skilled electrician, I can't recommend them highly enough!

I am extremely pleased. Rich Cobbell, owner of the company, brought the crew, checked in with me daily, and made sure throughout the project that I was happy with everything. The crew arrived promptly at 7:30 each of the four days that it took to do the project (I thought that to be a really good time frame), worked professionally, competently, and efficiently and left everything spotless at the end of each day. They were friendly and courteous and I've really never experienced better work on the part of a home improvement crew. The finished product is beyond my highest expectations.

It was very professional job. Rich is customer oriented. He was on time in doing the project. Great attention to detail and customer service. Track lighting was pointed at the specific art work on the walls. Slightly pricey, but you get what you pay for.

They were great and exceptional! Just excellent. The workers were clean and punctual - I don't have any complaints about them. I'm planning on hiring them to do more work. Everything went perfectly. This is the best company I've ever dealt with. They did everything they said they would do. I am no longer in the dark anymore!

I have used this company twice, since my first experience met all of my expectations. They installed recessed lighting, wall lamps, and bathroom fans in my two story home. First floor installation, they had to channel the wiring to install in the ceiling. Installers were professional and polite, spoke English well. They layed down plastic so that they would not dirty the floors. The work they did required a permit and inspection and was all taken care off by the owner, Rich. Overall, they did a very good job in the time they estimated and I was pleased. They even vacuumed before leaving.

The experience was so bad, I am sorry I ever let the contractor in my home. The installation of the pot lights was to be without major disruption to the ceiling, so much so that patching was not provided in the estimate/contract. Even when I questioned the estimate on this fact, Rich told me that he had worked in my complex before and he knew that he could do the work without significant patching requirements. Since the company was a referral with confidence from a friend, I allowed work to be done when I was away on a business trip. In one day, they cut 50 (yes 5-0) 3" cookies (round holes) in my ceiling without checking in with me (no call, no text, no email), causing an addition $3000+ in patching/painting repairs (and an additional mess, disruption and schedule delay). In addition, one of the closet lights was never installed, the other installed in the back of the closet against the wall and had to be moved to the front; and one ceiling fan installed over my bed instead of the location we agreed to use (and had to be moved). Overall, Rich over promised and under delivered. And, no reduction in fee was provided, except for the deletion of the closet light that was never installed. He stood by the contract, saying that patching was excluded, and explained that the actual work had taken much more effort than he estimated due to the extensive cookie-cutting. I would like to believe that the fiasco was created because he failed to supervise his crew, but I do have lingering doubts about whether he set it all up in the beginning because he wanted the job and knew that I would be unwilling to go forward with such a disruptive job, especially when it was "elective" and not required.

Overall, an excellent experience all the way around.

THIS COMPANY WAS VERY HELPFUL. THEY WERE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT ELECTRICITY, AND DID A GREAT JOB. THEY WERE POLITE HARD WORKING AND THROUGH. THE PRICE WAS MORE THAN FAIR.

THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND DID ALL THEIR WORK ON TIME. THEY ALSO CLEANED UP THE PLACE AND LEFT IT THE WAY IT WAS WHEN THEY STARTED WORK. THEY WERE VERY THOROUGH WITH THEIR JOB.

OVERALL WORK QUALITY WAS EXCELLENT. PRICE WAS REASONABLE. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
