I have been going to them probably 20 years. I get such good service. They don't have a waiting area, but they are near shopping and restaurants. Usually if I go there I do some shopping or have lunch or breakfast depending on the time of day. It is convenient. I am pleased with the workers.

1. Bill believed me when I said there was a funny noise; he stopped what he was doing to test run the car to make a diagnosis.

2. He told me it would be ready by Wednesday, but knowing I was spending money on a rental car, he stayed late to try to get it finished a day early.

3. He kept me updated by phone at every step, including a call to suggest I have the clutch replaced at the same time (reasonable given the age/mileage on the car) and another to say the axle would need to be replaced because it was damaged.

3. Unfortunately, the rebuilt transmission was faulty and he had to get a replacement and redo the job, which he managed to do in one day.

4. He negotiated with the parts supplier to give me a $50 credit because of the added day of rental car expense; he made no extra charge for himself for his extra labor.

5. The car now sounds great; runs great. Gas mileage has increased from former ~40 miles/gallon to ~47 mpg, and I hope to keep it for another 240,000 miles.

Thank you, Bill!

.Bill and the guys at Old Town are true no-nonsense mechanics who give you no BS, just good honest service at a good price. No add-on work surprises ever and no work was ever done at all that I didn't OK at the outset. They did alert me to possible future issues that I already knew about so I knew that they didn't make them up. One issue was concerning aftermarket brake pads that were installed by an out of area shop that were supposed to be OEM(I paid for OEM!). Squeaking brakes upon backing up could not be fixed so Bill installed new OEM pads after removing the cheap aftermarket pads. That fixed the problem initially caused by the other shop that cheated me.
I take both my cars to Old Town for everything and will never go back to the dealers. Dealers seem to want to rebuild your car every time you bring it in for maintenance, but Old Town will never do that. They have so much work they don't need to do that to have a thriving business. As you can read, I am suspicious of auto repairers as I have been cheated in the past, but Old Town has done a make over on my trust. Go there in confidence that you will be treated right.
