Bernard Gibbons is the best realtor that I have ever had. I read his very useful newsletter every month and chose him to sell my house when I needed to move. Every phase of the sale was very well done. His list of recommended fixes was reasonable and appropriate for the neighborhood. He helped find workmen that did quality work for the right price. He paid for a stager and designer that signed off on the final look of the house prior to the open houses. His open house strategy was designed to generate the maximum interest. His marketing materials were first rate including a great brochure with first rate pictures and a custom website with a video walkthrough. He also instructed bidding realtors the kinds of bids that would be acceptable (ie contingencies). We received 8 bids all over the asking price and accepted the one that was the best all around bid, not the highest. Bottom line.. I strongly believe I received more money using Bernard that I would have with any other realtor.

Bernard always took careful note of which properties were interesting to us from Realtor.com and added his own suggestions, invariably good options based on what we had told him we wanted. He has a lot of experience as a full-time
realtor, and his assessments of houses was spot-on. He is quite relaxed but was happy to offer useful opinions when we asked.
When we finally found a great place, Bernard helped us through the negotiation process. He had sensible advice for us when we wanted an opinion about putting together an attractive but reasonable offer. Negotiations went smoothly, even from a coast away and with some back-and-forth through the seller agent.
Finally, based on the inspection process, I am convinced that he knows or knows of every contractor in the East Bay. Although I initially thought that I would want to choose my own inspectors, I am glad we went with his recommendations. He always got
us in touch with an inspector or contractor who could make our job a priority and seemed to know his business (the guy who did the whole house inspection especially impressed me) which made the house-buying process much easier.
