Phil Schwob was professional and talented. He worked well with my plumber to coordinate the plumbing and remodel with the tiling. He was patient with me while we worked out a tile pattern and suggested options that worked for my bathroom. I could not be happier with the results!!

It turned out so beautifully! Phil removed old bricks and cleaned up his mess like he was never there. Very satisfied. Will definitely use him for my future projects!

He provided an estimate, offered suggestions on different types of materials and waited while we obtained other estimates.  As requested he came back to provide additional information & suggestions after we notified him of our decision on the type of stone desired for refacing the fireplace.  He answered all of our questions as to what we still needed to do & scheduled specific dates for the work.  After removing the outer fireplace stone face, he immediately informed us of wood rot in the ceiling above the fireplace and immediately repaired it after obtaining our approval.  His was always prompt, courteous, secluded the work area with plastic from the rest of the living room to minimize the dust, cleaned up immaculately each day and did a beautiful job with refacing the fireplace & painting the ceiling & walls around the fireplace. He was very professional, informative and patient from beginning to end.

Every element of the job was done well. We are thrilled with the work, the speed at which it was done, the professionalism, and the care he took working through our ideas.  I am grateful each day I get to cook in our new kitchen.

Phil Schwob did an excellent job. Initially he went to the tile and cabinet store with my husband and me to get an idea of what we wanted.  This also gave Phil and opportunity to give us his ideas  which allowed us another point of view.  He has an eye for design and for color. Phil did this on his own time. Not only did he show up for job, he showed up on time.  This was refreshing!  He worked hard and we appreciated it.   He did excellent tile work.  He just didn't put the tile up but he thoughtfully designed a pattern.  I highly recommend him for kitchen and bath remodels.

Out with the old, in with the new.  Phil from Shaker Construction helped pick out materials, including great ideas with the tile back splash, the small glass tiles added an elegant touch to the kitchen. 
3 stops to pick out all the pieces, and I could just sit back and relax while the old kitchen disappeared and the new one materialized.  All while keeping the place clean and the kitchen usable as long as possible.  I love my new kitchen. Thanks Phil.

Phil Schwob at Straightedge has worked on multiple projects at my home. Everything has been great, with no surprises other than they turned out better than i expected. He has remodeled my two bathrooms, and both turned out wonderful, the master bath is now a beautiful oasis. He is creative, friendly, timely ... Other jobs he did here, tiling my floors, rebuilding the fireplace front, painting, I highly recommend his work. The last job was my master bathroom, where we designed with ceramic & glass tile, glass blocks to the bedroom to bring in more light, heated floor, even a TV.  Everything turned out perfect.
