We were in a pinch as 2 days before move-in of new tenant in one of our rentals SEVERE damage due to cat urine became obvious. What we thought was a light sanding and wax application turned out to he a much bigger job. Some of the boards, including feature strips, had to be cut out. The smell was sickening. Carlos of Mongalo Design and his assistant Ariana did an OUTSTANDING job and within two days of me contacting them. I highly recommend them and will be calling in then again for future projects. They were very courteous, professional and reasonable.

They are truly awesome. We were at the end of a big reno project. Our GC had floor guys that were refinishing our floors and ruined them. Our floors are Jatoba/ Brazilian cherry which Iâ ve learned isnâ t easy to work with. Carlos came immediately, identified to me and my GC what the other guys were doing wrong. We fired the other contractor and had Carlos and his team start the next day. They evened out all the divots, uneven spots and saved us from a major disaster. Our floors look amazing again. Their work is great, they also use equipment to mitigate all the dust during the sanding process. 10 stars!

We recently had our floors refinished after a renovation while we were out of town. Needless to say when we returned, the floors were significantly damaged, uneven throughout, inconsistent finishe, etc. After the prior company attempted to resand the floors, it was clear that they did not understand how to handle cherry hardwood. I called Carlos as he refinished the floors six years ago. He was super responsive and came by to inspect the floors and provide an estimate to our contractor. Carlos and team were able to nearly restore the floors to the prior finish, doing it quickly, professionally and with little dust. They demonstrated their clear understanding of cherry floors, Bona finish as well as of our needs. It was a bonus that he also has a training program with apprentices who were also helpful in this project. They refinished 2100 sft in two full days (with 2 teams). We are grateful for the finish and the professionalism.

I fired a previous floor contractor that left me with a partially finished, horrible mess on my kitchen hickory wood floor with streaks, areas of drips, and not near a color match to my existing Cortec Vinyl flooring throughout the rest of my home. I called and spoke with Mr. Mangalo on a Sunday morning . He came to my home to view it, 2 1/2 hours later, 90 miles away, gave me a quote; I signed a contract. He then stayed and sanded the complete floor to silky smooth. I gave him a spare floor board to take with him. He returned on time Monday morning with his assistant, Arianna and the board having almost a dozen shades of stains to pick a close match, stained the floor, allowed it to dry for a few hours, then applied the first finish coat. It looked fantastic. They return on time Tuesday, prepared and applied the final finish coat. Their cleanliness and attention to detail was a day and night difference from previous disastrous hack job! Kudos and thanks!

I was surprised that they drove from L.A. to Oakland , a 7 hr. Trip one way. I prefer to hire people from the Bay Area, and if I had known he was from Southern Ca. I wound have asked for a local worker. It is deceptive to show a local address for this business when the worker is not local.
