They did a good job and I would hire them again.

never showed...took 3 hours off from work. Called at 4:15 and wanted to come next day. The other jobs were more money so I was put at the bottom and disrespected for my time. Never again Powell Electric. I'm no longer a customer and you've proven you dont care about customers just the almighty dollar....shame on you!

On the other hand, the work that I "have" hired Powel Electric to perform has always been accomplished very well -- just extraordinarily expensive.

He was very professional, very informative and worked fast. He even replaced another breaker button for free because he said it would be breaking soon. Everything was great but the price was on the expensive side.

The company performed the job well. Other vendors who serviced our house commented on the installation being "by the book" i.e. a great job.

They charged $71.00 for a paid estimate. I believe they never really wanted to do the work, just make money off the estimate. An estimate of $9900.00 is 9 times what all 3 other estimates were from A rated companies. All other companies provided free estimates. I ended up getting the exact same work done for $1700.

Powell Electric then said the problem was, that all the outlets and light switches HAD to be replaced, because of loose "hot" wires. The price to fix was over $3,000.00. I thought that was way too much, so I called another electrician, that came out the next day, and just replaced ONE, burned out 15 amp breaker. He charged &60.00,
and the problem was fixed in 15 minutes.
and the problem was fixed in 15 minutes.

His bid was astronomical for the work he said we needed, which was to restore power and replace a conduit. He wanted to remove the fixtures and then to reinstall all of them, after he replaced the line. His bid was $1290.00!! So we, of course, said No and waited till our regular electrician (Marguerite Electric) was available. They did the whole job for under $200.00.

They did a very good job. Everything was handled very professionally. They covered all of the furniture and carpeting. They took the time to clean up after themselves. The price seemed to be a little high, however I think that it was worth it for a licensed, bonded, insured contractor to come out and do the work.

Brought in another electrician who went straight for the fixture, discovered two crossed wires, straightened them out and insulated them from each other. Problem solved. I'll never use these guys again.

The work they did was good but the finished work was second rate. This was the work on the house after installing the new meter. It was wood siding that they had to pull off to get the meter in. There was one piece of wood that they didn't mill down. The crew was clean. They kept the work organized and even simplified some things. They did send some follow up to see how the work went. They were on time. They did a fine job of accommodating our requests.

The people who came out were entirely professional and very friendly. They came out on time. I had no problem with the technicians. It was a very expensive service. They are a very reputable company that is insured and bonded. Now after joining Angie's List, I may not have called them because of the price. They did cut a fence because it was not according to code, but now we have to replace the fence. A representative was at the home at the time of work so they should have asked first before taking such a bold move by cutting the fence, but didn't ask for permission.
