AMAZING! Victor is the nicest guy ever! He went above and beyond to help make sure I was happy! I know nothing about construction and he helped walk me through it all! Highly recommend him and his team! THE BEST!

Owner called me and scheduled time to meet and provide an estimate. Crew showed up on time on the date scheduled. Work was all done and completed within 3 days. Crew kept the worksite clean.

Victor's crew came in and did a great job. They found a great match to our old floor, removed the old floor, baseboards, and subfloor. The dishwasher, and other appliances were removed (but re-installed by specialists per the insurance company). The job went fast, there was no mess, and we are completely satisfied. I definitely recommend New West Floors!

Victor came over within 48 hours to give me a quote on my floors. The floors were prefinished Chinese Oak (installed in 2006) and looked cheap and orange. Victor and New West had done work for my friend in Hancock Park, and her floors turned out spectacularly. I was worried that mine might not because the material of the floors I had was not as fine as the material of my friend's floors. He assured me they would look 100% better when they were redone. He estimated the work would take about 8 days in total--with 3 or so days of prep. He included the cost of a storage container to put my furniture in while the work was being done.
The prep work they did was extensive. Moving furniture, removing doors, taping baseboards and covering the walls with plastic so the fine dust would not be sticking everywhere.
The sanding of the floors was next and that was done with care and precision. They even skimmed a coat of wood filler on then sanded that off so the floors would be uniform and even. Prefinished floors have the sort of beveling between baords that make them look cheap. The guys sanded that away and made them look flat and uniform.
When sanding was done, they mixed up several batches of stain options and we settled on a color.
The floors are now a deep dark brown--almost black with a finish in between matte and semigloss. They are gorgeous and look so much better than they originally did.
They guys carefully returned all the furniture back to its original locations.
I am very pleased.

Victor the owner came to go give me a bid.  He was the fourth company that I had interviewed for the job.  His suggestions were thoughtful and different than the other suggestions I received and made the most sense considering my floors were only 3 years old and I didn't feel I needed to sand the entire floor as everyone else had recommended.
I also was not happy with the product I had used to finish the floors originally so he suggested that before applying again or changing to another product he would call the rep to come see the job and make recommendations. In the end it turn out that we used the same product but discovered they had a new maintenance coat which has made all the difference to the finish.
I am very happy with their work and my floor issue was handled with minimum wear and tear on the house. They covered my walls  and taped off with plastic in the area where they were sanding. Victor was ok when I suggested that I blue tape the base boards to avoid possible damage to them.  I forgot to tape an area and they finished taping for me.
Victor was available to me when I had questions and came to the house to check the work as needed.  His workers were professional and I was impressed with the them and their work.  Overall it was an excellent experience.

The floor in the kitchen is absolutely beautiful.  They even replaced the molding around the kitchen with new molding.  The floor which was touched up, blended beautifully with the old floor.  They were immaculate and we are very happy.

The house was vacant. I left a key for them. They came and did everything on their own. The floors looked great. I was very pleased. Also I was on a tight schedule with other contractors. They were able to fit me in when I needed the work done. I have no hesitation in recommending them. I will certainly call them back when I need to re-do these floors.

First off, we are very remise in posting this review for an excellent experience with New West Wood Floors and the hands-on owner Victor.  From start to finish the attention to our personal satisfaction was his only concern.He provided a realistic quote, in line with the other 3 quotes we received from Angies List.  He was thorough with his description of the job and what to expect. He also went out of his way to meet us during off hours, several times before 7:00 AM, because of our work schedules.  If he said he would be their at X'oclock, he was, and so was the crew.   Often arriving a tad early. Having moved into this untouched mid-century fixer recently, we had his crew rip up over 2500' of wall to wall carpeting to reviele untouched white oak floors.  They took extra care in removing the carpet tacks and mouldings minimizing scaring.  We discovered a 4' by 3' odd shaped plywood covered hole just inside the entry, probably the remains of an old planter or fountain.  Rather than just put new flooring in it's place, Victor had removed the necesary boards from a back bedroom and placed these in the hole so they would match the existing floors.   Then replaced those boards with new.   Had he not told us, we would have never known as both areas were perfectly matched.  When it came to color, we were difficult clients and had him work up probably a dozen samples before finding the right one.  He would have done two dozen had we ask, without flinching.   We also uncovered an old concrete patio when taking up the carpet.  Victor spent nearly an extra day scrubbing and sanding it at no extra cost, then finished it handsomely.  Now here was the clincher for us.  Just when we thought the job was complete, everything had been sanded, sealed and polished, he pulled us with a look of great concern on his face.  He ask us to look at the floor just inside the entry. There was a natural dark spot in the wood he was uncomfortable with and he wanted to replace that particular board.  It would take the better part of the afternoon to swap it with a piece from somewhere else in the house.  We hadn't even noticed it and had he not pointed it out, probably wouldn't have.  Long story short, he swapped the panel and the job is perfection.Bravo!

Some areas of our wood floor had detached from below and would move when you stepped on them.  New West was responsive, gave me a timely estimate, and was able to schedule the repair pretty quickly.  The workers were skilled and professional.  They pulled up the loose planks and reinstalled new ones in the problem areas.  We had spare planks from the first install (different contractor), so the match was not a problem.  We were happy with the price and quality of the work.

Once I contacted the owner Victor Salias for an appointment, he responded quickly.   Once Mr. Salias saw the project first hand, he submitted  the total cost w/ one business day.   The crew showed up on the exact day and time that we had agreed to.  The workers were very polite, courteous, clean and professional.   Over a period of 5 days, Mr. Salias showed up three times to make sure everything was going well and to inform me as to what the remaining work consisted of.  The applied stain was EXACTLY the  perfect match to an existing  nearby hallway floor.  The work was completed on time as projected.  Very Very Happy.

Overall the final result was a very beautiful floor.  I would highly recommend this company and will definitely use them again in the future.

The whole job was done very professionally. We didn't know if we had wood flooring under our carpeting, but after pulling it up in just a couple of places Beau (rightly) judged, based on his knowledge of how houses were built, that we had wood floors throughout the ground level.  He gave us an estimate for doing everything--stripping the carpet and disposing of it, cleaning the floors, and finishing the wood to specifications--and stuck to it. He did much of the work while we were out of town, and he not only completed the work without supervision and on time but communicated very clearly, calling us up to say how things were going. We didn't really know how wood floors worked, and he could probably have sold us all kinds of unnecessary restoration tasks, but he didn't. I will say that the work was not cheap, perhaps 10 percent higher than a competitor quoted, but we think this extra premium was a small price to pay for such excellent work.

I called New West Floors based on Angieslist reviews and the fact that he was local in my neighborhood.  I had a rather small job of renewing the hardwood floors in two rooms which had a major refinishing 7 years ago but needed a light sanding and additional coat of polyurethane to ready the house for sale.  Victor, called to let me know that he was stuck in traffic and would arrive about 30 minutes late for the estimate appointment.  I appreciated the call.  He said he would email me the estimate over the weekend but I had not received it by Monday morning and had to email to remind him.  He did respond to the email promptly with the estimate.  I had gotten a couple of other estimates from general contractors.  Victor's estimate was in line with their estimates but Victor was a flooring expert.  And I must say the results showed it.  His crew arrived promptly on the day we scheduled the work.  They moved all the furniture and did the work on the floor on one day. Then came back the next morning to replace the furniture.  I am very happy with the work they did and would hire them again.

Victor's crew did a great job. They were punctual, polite and very neat. They used a sander and vacuum which sucked up the dust and kept the house clean. The floor looks great, and I liked working with them. The cost was the same as the estimate.

Overall, the experience went smoothly. We had some other companies provide estimates, and he impressed us from the start. The technician was right on time, completed the job, and now the floors look great. The price was reasonable as well. I'm happy with their services and I would recommend them to others.

My husband did some of the repair to our floors himself--- New West was 100% helpful. They gave him ideas of where to go and even a few tips on how to do what he wanted to do. Service above-and-beyond. Very pro. Very nice.

Victor at New West Wood Floors was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. He helped up select the floor and the cork underlay. His installers were professional and timely. We did an entire kitchen remodel, and the easiest, least stressful part of the entire remodel was the floor installation. We would use New West again in a heartbeat.

They had a good price and did a good job. Everything went well overall.

When we first contacted Victor to get an estimate for new floors, we really didn't know how to approach this task or what to expect. We had an idea of what we wanted, but then Victor offered his suggestions i.e., go with a different color, brand, and size of floor planks. He was very friendly and helpful. The work was completed in the estimated time frame. The team was very organized. We never felt inconvenienced. By the time we got home from work, the team was gone and everything was clean and put away neatly. There was no disruption to our life!!! We highly recommend New West Hardwood Floors.
